Tkt availability for early arrival - online checkin?

I checked on this earlier and was told that you can use your ticket a day before arrival. For example, if we arrive June 10th for a 5 night stay but have a 6-day park hopper, we can actually activate our tickets for June 9th as "day 1" of our 6-day park hopper. Is that still the case?

If we do this, should we do online checkin? Does that simplify or complicate anything if we want to use our ticket a day earlier?

You can activate your tickets up to 3 days early by stopping at Guest Services.

MagicBands don't affect the early activation one way or the other.
Once the tickets are activated by Guest Relations, if they are in linked to (or already in) your MDE account, you can enter the parks using your MagicBands.
