Ev!
Send your leftovers this way. I can't wait another month and a half for ours.
I just love Thanksgiving.
And the concert is more than Christmas music as I understand it. They put on quite a show.

DL55 - Don't worry...FB won't kill our thread. Think we just have a few missing folks and some who are busy today. Its pretty quiet on FB too.

Good news....Siding is scheduled to FINALLy be going up on Monday.:yay::cheer2::woohoo: We shall see if that actually happens, but for now I am happy.

Evening ladies!

DL55: I'm one that posts more on FB. Sorry. :flower3:

Magi: That is just awful what the young guy is going through. If she is lying she aught to be a shamed of herself. It's a punch in the face to those kids that do experiance such a thing.

JO: So glad to hear that kitty is feeling better.

D&D: All dates are subject to change. I've been looking at beaches on the Gulf Coast of FL to stay for a few days and I still want to check out the Kennedy Space Center to see if we would be interested in that. We were hoping to check out Sea World but the prices for that are just too much for our budget. Oh and yay for the siding!

Sukie: Hi Mom!

Ev: Happy Turkey Day!

We stayed in Treasure Island, FL a few times and absolutely loved the Bilmar resort. It is right on the beach and all rooms have a wonderful view of the ocean - even a walk out patio. Most are suites w/ mini kitchen. Its been years so I don't know how much they charge now. We got a good rate by just grabbing a hotel booklet at the Visitor's Center and walking in to ask for the rate. Not too far from Busch Gardens too.

I as looking at a place on Treasure Island. I can't remember what I thought about it. I'll google Bilmar Resort and see what is what. Thanks!

Evening! Not much going on here tonight. Waiting for Jackie to text me since she at the local football game.

D&D, you mean they are finally going to come to do the siding? About freakin time!

DL55, all my time isn't taken up by FB. I'm actually in the middle of video game obsession. And no, it's not some game over on FB.

Hi LITC!

Pikester, we've been to the Gulf Coast beaches before and it was so beautiful. I just chilled on the beach while the kids played in the ocean. It was just so relaxing. I hope you can find someplace to stay that's reasonable.

Good morning ladies! And belated Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Ev. I hope it was a wonderful holiday!

D...congrats on the siding. I'm amazed that they'll be working on a holiday. Good for you! You should get out there wearing a Christopher Columbus costume just to celebrate.

I thought the Kennedy Space Center was pretty neat. I didn't grow up with the wonder of space travel, which is sad. And then you go see what exactly space travel entails and you're like "WHOA! Someone actually thought that would work?". Its crazy to think about going up into space in a big metal contraption. I'd go see it again.

I've never stayed by the water, but it is something I'd definitely be interested in.

I have some wonderful news! My friends who have been trying to adopt a baby got the notice yesterday! A beautiful little girl, a year old. Doing the happy dance! They tried for years to have one of their own, then turned to adoption in the Philippines (she's Filipino, and he studied there). I am so happy for them!

Was out yesterday at the outlets braving the crazy shoppers for the holiday sales. It was a bit crazy, but some good stuff. I got a great pair of Clark clogs for $15 and some cashmere sweaters for $10. Although I don't know how to wash cashmere. I'm kinda scared.

I also bought Beauty and the Beast last night. Discs says there's three different versions. Really? How is that possible?

I know, I get really outraged when I think about the situation with Roger and Caitlyn. He's going before the court next month. Negotiations are that he'll be on probabtion for three years, and if he's clean, then the sex offender will be wiped from his record. It needs to be. Since he's special needs--really he has the mentality of a 9/10 year old--there was hopes he'd eventually live in an adult-assisted situation. But with something on his record, he won't be able to. Ugh.

Another gorgeous day here! Perfect autumn weather. Hope everyone is enjoying it!

Morning! Trying to suck down some coffee because Curt's sister is coming over to have a play date and make cupcakes with all the kids.

I was up last night reading on the Dis and came across this thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2572314

It's about a couple that is taunting a dying 7 year old girl. What the hell is wrong with people? I'm not very religious but I do believe there is a special place reserved in Hell for these type of people.

MK, congrats to your friend on their pending adoption. How truly wonderful. And continued prayers to Roger. Part of me think this girl picked him because he is special needs and can't really defend himself. Totally conniving and vicious on her part.

Hello!
D&DDisney yeah on the siding. :cheer2:

MagiKitty so glad for your friends. :goodvibes

JOCAmom I read that thread..:scared1:..definitely mentally ill or just plain evil..

I would join facebook but I have enough problems getting my chores done now. :lmao:

Good morning ladies! Its bright out there already. Yesterday was just a gift. MOderately warm and very sunny.

JO--how did the cupcakes turn out? How was the visit? Did you get that coffee?

DL5---I'm terrible at FB. I pretty much only go on there to respont to messages. I don't know how some people do it. I have about 100 friends (really?!) and when I go on I feel like I need to leave comments on everyone on everything. It gets really time consuming. I also get offended when I bother to post what I'm doing and it goes unnoticed. I have a very complicated relationship with FB. That being said, it has allowed me to make contact with people I thought I lost, which is great. But for the large part, FB stresses me out.

I watched two out of three versions of Beauty and the Beast. I just love that movie. I'm not one to usually buy movies, I'm a huge fan of Netflix and Redbox, but I needed this movie. Its still magical.

I also watched the BBC version of Sense and Sensibility last night---can you tell I got absolutely nothing done?--and it was wonderful. I have a lot of the BBC projects on my cue. Netflix must think I'm bipolar--half my queue is BBC and what they call "cerebral dramas" and the other is King of the Hill/Family Guy (BF's choices).

Well, have to get ready for church. Hugs to everyone!

I just kissed my monitor.

Went to the football game last night. Actually stayed for the entire game. Had to drive all over campus as the parking lot was full! It was an inner state rivalry and the other side was as desperate for a win as we were. :sad2: We managed to win :cheer2: by screwing up less (but not by much). Score was 16-14.

Columbus day is really not a holiday here except for the banks and gov. No day off of school or work. And I will be doing carwheels if they show up tomorrow and actually have the right stuff. :cool1:

So happy for your friends. The adoption call is the BEST news you can get next to a positive pregnancy test. I thought you said it was so difficult to adopt from the Phils??? I would love to adopt from there.

Continue to have beautiful weather here. Right now its about 85 and sunny. The trees are just about at peak color and the pumpkin/apple farms are packed this weekend. Was supposed to rain and get cold this week but now they've changed the forecast - sunny and 70s all week. :cool1: JO can leave her parka at home now.

Walter is just the cutest little boy. You need to post pictures more often for us, LITC.

MK, we never ended up making the cupcakes on Saturday. We actually ended up at SIL's for the evening to watch baseball and hockey. It was a nice quiet evening just relaxing for a change.

D&D, even though it's suppose to be warm this week, I'll still pack for winter. No shorts for me and I'll still bring hoodies. Though maybe I'll be able to wear t-shirts during the day.

One of Jackie's friends told her about this really cool photo website and she made these awesome pictures today.

WOW! Jo...please tell Jackie those pics are so cool and she is so talented! Nice to have a nice quiet night, but a night of hockey for me is far from quiet! And go Yankees!

D...my friends have beenn working on this adoption for 5 years. The big problem is that they want adopted parents to live with the child for a year in the Phils before they approve the adoption. My friends went through an open adoption scenario. A woman was giving up her little girl and signed her rights over to the agency to approve. It was far from a traditional adoption route, but it gives me hope.

LITC...kiss that gorgeous boy for me! His picture just made my evening.

Last week, a local boy away at college hung himself because of bullying because he was gay. The funeral drew thousands of people--this considering the population of my town is barely 7000 om a good day. Its just so heartbreaking for these young adults today.

Made some egg salad today that I can't keep to stay away from. Ugh. It was either that or the Halloween candy. I couldn't decide between the peanut butter cup or the Baby Ruths so I decided to ignore both for the moment.

Thanks, MK. I'll be sure to pass the message along to Jackie. I think when we come back from WI, I'm going to get some printed out and frame them up.

There's been so much in the news lately about bullying. Is this really what society has come to? Why is it not considered harassment like it is with adults? Maybe if it were something could really be done to stop it.

Columbus Day is a pretty big deal around here. I think its because that there's a large Italian-American community. Schools are closed along with the banks and post office.

That being said, we're planning on pizza and cannolis to celebrate the holiday.
