TIW - when does it activate?

Our trip isn't until July. If I order my Tables in Wonderland card now, will it expire one year from now / April when I order it? Or is it like a ticket that only gets activated on first use? I know it takes several weeks to get it, so I want to order it early, but will wait to purchase it at WDW if that will give me 3 extra months of use.

As soon as you purchase it. Yes, if you wait to purchase it, it will be good from the date of purchase. It is not activated by use.

There's really no reason to order it ahead of time if you will be able to purchase one at WDW.

Most of the time when I have ordered the TiW card too early the person on the phone will tell me to call back closer to my trip date, usually about 6-8 weeks before your trip. Our upcoming trip is at the end of September and I'm going to call to get my TiW card some time in August. Also the TiW card is usually good for 13 months.
