My father is joining us for 3 days of our upcoming trip. If I have a TiW card and he wants to pay for a meal he can not apply the discount correct?

Do they ever allow a none TiW holder to pay the bill? I will be at the meal, just possibly not paying.

It depends on the server and the venue. I always get TIW in my name. My husband usually pays with his credit card with same last name. Most places don’t care but we have had a couple places reject it and I had to use the same account but under my name. In another Instance we used TIW with another couple and split the bill. They happily split it and gave us all the discount. Some won’t have an issue, others do. To avoid any problem, I’d suggest you pay and he reimburse you. Or he has cash he can hand you so that you technically are paying but it’s coming out of his pocket.

Thanks! I know he is going to want to pay, I mean worst case i pay and he doesn’t works for him :)

You will have to ask at each place. Some servers might allow it, but others will adhere to the rule posted on the TiW page that says the cardholder must be the one who pays.

If you are staying on site, charge the meal to your room. Then he can take his credit card to the front desk and pay for as much that is on the bill as he would like to. Most of the time the servers must match the name on the credit card to the name on the TIW card. My husband was even asked for his ID.

You can still charged to the room with TiW? Good to know!!

Thanks

As mentioned, the strict rules for TiW state the card holder must pay the bill Not every restaurant follows this. When we have gone with others, I have paid the bill and we settle up later.
If you put it on your room, as mentioned, your dad can pay at the front desk whatever portion of the room charges he likes.

I think at least half the time, I am asked for my ID along with the TiW card. Surprised me the first time, now I expect it.
