TIW Question

Currently we have the regular dining plan. We are thinking about purchasing annual passes and possibly the TIW card since we have more dining reservations than we have points (too many signature restaurants) and since we will be taking a 2nd trip this year in October.

It is my understanding that if we order items that are not included on the dining plan such as appetizers that we could use our TIW card towards those items.

I know that when you use the TIW card the restaurant automatically adds an 18% gratuity on to the bill regardless of the number of people in the group.

Now the question -- would the 18% gratuity be added for the entire meal or just the portion of the meal that the TIW card is being used for?

There will only be four people in our group -- 2 adults and 2 kids.

The gratuity will only be included for the non-DP'ed items. My memory is pretty bad, but I think they give you separate checks too.

The answer above is correct - only for the TIW items unless you have a party of six or more. You will get separate checks for the on-plan and off-plan items.
