TIW expiration question

If you get the card at guest services in the park, they can set the expiration date. The last one I bought in October 2017 was set to end in October 2018, the cast member was comparing the name on the back to my ID and said oops this has Oct 31st as the expiration date and "fixed" it (reprinted) to show a November 30th expiration date.
