I keep seeing TIW, can anyone tell me what this is? How to get it? And does it cost any thing?

If you have an AP you can get a TIW card for $75. This gives you a 20% discount on all food and drinks including alcohol for most TS restaurants and a few CS choices ( Flame Tree BBQ). When you use the card they automatically add on 18% gratuity, but a tip is something you would pay anyway at a TS restaurant so they overall savings has been great for DH and I :thumbsup2

We really enjoy having ours, its a great savings if you enjoy eating table service meals

It works for buffets too. Also, there are special TIW events throughout the year that you are invited to (for a fee, of course).

It can pay for itself quickly. Essentially, you are saving the tip, which can add up quickly if you dine at full service restaurants.

The TIW card works for alcohol nearly everywhere, though. Pub in UK, things like that.

TIW is also available for purchase to Florida residents and DVC members.
We love having ours....one dinner at Victoria & Alberts and it was paid for with the savings.

We've saved hundreds with our TIW and finally broke our DDP habit! It's $75 for a calendar year from the date of purchase and is available to AP holders, FL residents and DVC members. It might be $100 for FL residents and DVC members. The card gives a 20% discount on your total bill, including all apps, entrees, desserts and adult and non adult beverages then adds in and 18% gratuity. It doesn't sound like it works to save but it does. Also, unlike the DDP where you have to order the most expensive thing on the menu to get your $$ worth, you can get what you'd normally eat. You have to spend about $350 (NOT hard to do) to break even on the cost of the card. A word of wisdom...don't order the card ahead of time because that will be the date on your card.

How and where do you purchase a TIW card? Do you purchase them with Guest Relations or the Concierge ?

The card may be purchased at any Guest Relations in the parks or at Downtown Disney. You will need proof of Florida Residency or a current Annual Pass or DVC Membership at the time of purchase. It is a paper card which is printed and activated immediately at time of purchase.

To get a TiW Card you must be a Florida Resident or DVC Member ($100) or any Annual Passholder ($75).

Here is a working example, using $100.00 as the original bill to make the math show up easily. Note this is for Table Service. At Counter Service there is no gratuity added.

100.00 - Original Menu Amount
*20.00 - Discount
*80.00 - Subtotal
*18.00 - Gratuity Added based on $100
**5.20 - Sales Tax on $80
103.20 - Final amount charged, takes into consideration discount, gratuity and tax.

Without TiW Discount (and still figuring 18% Gratuity)

100.00 - Original Menu Amount
*18.00 - Gratuity
**6.50 - Sales Tax on $100
124.50 - Total

$21.30 - Savings using TiW Card.

(Note - At Victoria and Albert's the added gratuity is 20% instead of 18%.)
* Ignore the asterisks; they are there only so the columns/numbers line up properly.
