can I use these both, say at House of Blues? I know you can't combine discounts but the certificates are like cash.

You can ask at the HOB, but most likely no, it cannot be combined with any other discount or offer.
It is not quite the same as a normal gift certificate.

You really need to think of it more as a coupon.

Some places will not even let you use it on daily specials.
So for example if they had a buy one meal get one free on Mondays, you can't use it.
One places has a Wednesday pastas night and you can't use it for that.
Another place has a frequent guest card for a free app after six visits, you can't use it.

If you had two couples with separate checks at the same table most places will not let you both use it.

A lot of these things vary by location, but I have never been able to combine discounts and I have been using restaurant.com for years.

One thing could try is have them do two checks.
One with $35 in food for the certificate and another for everything else and use the TIW for that.
They might let you do that, but it is up to the restaurant on how strict they want to be.

No, the discounts can't be combined.

I have a HoB certificate and it says right on the certificate that it can't be combined with other discounts.
