I plan on purchasing the TIW card when we arrive at Disney, not doing the dining plan. We're hoping to book a reservation at CRT in the magic kingdom for dinner during our stay. Could someone please tell me how to apply my discount when I do not have the card as of yet and the dinner needs to be prepaid? Will they credit me back the 20% dicount? I was hoping to use a disney gift card to pay for the reservation.

Thank you,
Belle

Hoping someone with the Table in Wonderland card can help.

Thanks,

Let them know that you will have the TIW card when you make the ADR. If memory serves, some CM's wanted the card number and some didn't. If the cm wants it, tell her you don't have one yet, but will be purchasing it before the meal. Worst case is they'd have to credit back the 20%.

We had CRT booked for our September 2011 trip and we weren't purchasing TIW until we got to WDW that trip.

We prepaid the full amount for CRT and then we received a 20% credit back to the card we had used to make the reservation.

It was pretty simple. We didn't have any problems.

Edited to add: I'm not sure how it would work using a gift card for prepayment. You might be safer using the gift card on something else and using a card that can be credited back for CRT.

Thank you so much Lauren. This is the first trip we'll have the TIW card. I was really hoping to use the discount at CRT this trip.

Thank you MissLiz. I am so glad I bumped this up. I knew my friends on the Dis would have the answers.

I had a similar situation on my first purchase of a TIW card and they just credited my credit card for the discount amount once I showed up to the restaurant (was the same case at Hoop De Doo).

With respect to a number associated with the TIW card, there isn't any (at least on the one that I have now and have had in the past). The only thing on there is an expiration date, which is 13 months from when you purchased it.

I'm so glad to know you had no trouble getting the credit applied. This does make me feel better.

We just got a credit at the restaurant a few weeks ago, and that was the same we had done 2 years ago. The waiters are used to it - not a big deal at all.

You do actually have an ID number on your card. Flip it over and next to your name you will see the guest ID number.
I have used this to get the discount added on in advance before...but I know I haven't done it every time. We prepaid CRT, Aloha and Hoop de Doo...so I just don't remember which ones I got the advance discount on and which I got refunded.

All true. TiW discount will be applied at the end of the meal all was easy breezy.

As far as the gift card. I would reccomend using it on something else. I am not sure that you will be able to receive the 20% credit back to the gift card

Thanks so much everyone. I was hoping to do CRT as a surprise Birthday Dinner, that is the reason for the Disney gift card payment. DH keeps a good eye on all credit card activity, I have to be creative when it comes to surprises involving payment up front. I may have to give up the discount on this dinner if i can't think of a way around it.
Has anyone had any luck having a refund put back on the Disney card used for a purchase?

Thanks,

Belle

Keep the gift card and take it with you when you go to dinner. They should be able to put the amount of the discount back on the gift card. If not, they must have a system in place for people who use gift cards, then need a refund.

Thank you purple figment. I think I will do that.
