I have seen this thread awhile back for WDW people, and I am curious what makes you cry at DL and/or other Disney parks?? For those who get teary eyed.... is it because you are finally seeing the park for the first time? Experiencing it with a child? Reliving moments from the past? Sad the trip is over? Or just.....because? :confused3

Tell me what brings tears (positive ones, I hope) to your eyes when at a Disney park! I will pass around the virtual tissue box for all. :scared:

Yeah, the christmas time fireworks get me too. I think it's just the whole music, and the feeling and then the fireworks come and it's such a great feeling.

RDCT Fireworks
The very beginning of the DEP (Ladies and gentleman boys and girls . . . )
Watching my youngest dd sleep with Sleeping Beauty.

Well since I posed the question, I guess it is only fair I answer it!

Certain moments in the Disney travel DVD make me cry.....
so that already has me going! haha.

I can only say recently at WDW (as I live in FL now), I have gotten teary when I enter the World...seeing those arched signs. I also got teary during Wishes. There were other teary moments, but I will spare you! :rotfl2:

At DL this August, I imagine it will be the fireworks for sure. But most of all, just entering the gates and starting the walk down Main Street. I can't believe it has been ten years for me to see my old "home" park. I grew up with DL, so for it to be 10 years since I stepped foot in that park, I imagine I will get teary. Like seeing an old friend. I also can't wait for my DH to see DL for the first time and truly understand why PotC is a big deal! pirate: I am also so excited to the the Electrical Parade again, as it was gone from the in the 90's. I can assure you it will bring tears as well.
Tears of joy for sure!

For me its the RDCT fire works, the electrical parade, and definately the last day we leave. Last time I sat on a bench at the front of Main Street and blubbered like a baby, haha and my mom was right behind me in doing so. That place does something to your senses and you lose all track of reality. Leaving to go back to all problems back home doesnt really sit with me :rotfl:

pixiedust: Standing on Main St in Disneyland watching the "snow" fall after fireworks.

Riding IASW with my family, makes me cry everytime. :cloud9:

I am feeling choked up reading all of these posts and wishing I was there again! We had such a great time with family and friends.

Oh Yeah, and walking into the park for the first time whenever I go back, always gets me.

Oh my gosh, SO much makes me tear up at DL.....
That first goosebumpy feeling of coming into the park and hear the train whistle.....
The music from "Fantasmic"
Do the sounds of the Electrical Parade still count considering they are not in "DL" anymore??
The cold, musty feel of climbing up through the caverns on "Big Thunder"
Any and all of the Walt Disney "touches" around the park - the statue of him with Mickey, all the various plaques and quotes around the park, the stories and photos of him involved in the early years of the park.... Something about the man touches a very emotional place in me.....When his quote came up at the end of "Meet the Robinsons" I started bawling right there in the movie theater.....Yeah, I am not normal......;)

I cry when I get there I cry when I leave. I cry when I see my darling DGD and best little Disney buddy ever meeting her idols, the princesses etc.

The music, the light in the window of the firehouse, the partners statue, the fireworks, the parades.

Oh heck I just cry from the time we get there till we leave. My family just keeps passing me the tissues.

Entering the gates and walking underneath the tunnel, stepping onto Main Street. It just brings back a flood of memories and I'm overwhelmed with emotions. I always look over to the left towards City Hall and look for my Grampa--that's where we'd meet up (we both had annual passes and would spend the day at the park). He's long gone, but it's a hard habit to break. I also get teary during the Electrical Parade. It made me cry when I was a kid, just the sights and sounds, and it still does.

Looking at my pictures when I get home.

Fantasmic makes me tear up. Every time, and I've seen it so many times.

I just love that show though and I'll be one of those crazies sitting there for 2 hours to get a spot front and center. It's worth it to me.

As soon as the show starts, and Mickey appears, I get goosebumps and all teary eyed. Also when the barges with the Princesses and their Princes come out, I also tear up then too. :goodvibes

F! makes me teary, no clue why really but it does. Luckily it's dark and no one notices. LOL

Watching the expressions on my girls' faces when we go, especially the first time when we ate at Ariel's Grotto and met the Princesses. To see DD8's (then 6) face when Cinderella walked to our table was absolutely priceless!!

We went for Christmas this year, actually we went for DD's 8th b-day and that was fun. We missed the fireworks though so we went back in January for the weekend to make sure we saw them. I teared up during that and then watching the kids catch the "snow" as it fell around us.

Seeing my majorly shy DD8 open up and talk to the CM's while pin trading is also a good moment for me.

Most of my moments center around my kids, I didn't go to DL until I was 21 so I don't have as many memories for myself. I love walking under the bridge and reading the sign, that has become tradition, we all take turns reading it out loud, then we hold hands and walk (sometimes we walk really fast because we are so excited) into the park. :) Thinking of that right now makes me teary. :)

I forgot to add Walt's opening spiel makes me tear up every single time and that's why I insist on being there at rope drop. :lovestruc

Also the castle kiss goodnight at WDW................bawled like a baby! :cloud9:

The opening speech!!! I don't think my girls have heard that at all....yes, we are definitely going to be there at rope drop at least once this trip. We aren't early risers so we tend to sleep in and get there later...not this time!! Thanks for the reminder!
