I just read a post to a thread by someone that seemed to indicate that they didn't tip at a TS restaurant when using the DDP. Is that the norm? I'm sorry but that doesn't seem right. Wait staff at a restaurant rely on tips, unless Disney compensates them differently that everywhere else, and they still I assume provide excellant service whether using the DDP or not.

Come on folks, you're already saving the sales tax, let's not hurt the minimum wage peoplpe working there. I'll be there in June using the DDP and will be tipping based on the menu prices!

I thought the Gratutiy was placed onto the bill before they gave it to you.
Is that not the case?

For a party under 6 Gratutiy is suggested at the bottom of the bill but not added into the bill.

:thumbsup2 this will be moved to the tipping thread...

'sall been discussed (see the sticky...pages and pages)

Prior to 2008 the tip was included in the DDP so at that time you didn't need to leave one, however except for the buffets we would always leave a little extra for the superb service received but that all changed with the 2008 dining plan whe they dropped the tip and appetizer. Maybe what you read was someone talking about the previous DDP :confused3

No, this is not the norm and I agree with you that is WRONG to leave no tip at a TS restaurant. Until the 2008 DDP the tip was included. Since then a tip is certainly called for. In this country tipping is part of eating at TS restaurants and anyone who doesn't should try working in one.

Discussion of tipping and tipping expectations and customs is not permitted on the restaurant board outside the Tipping Information Thread at

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2056032

This thread is a debate about tipping customs and expectations. I am going to close it and refer questions to the above linked thread.

Most readers are aware that tipping is no longer included in the DDP and would be expected at table service restaurants.
