Ok we have been twice but not in years but my sister, her DH and DS will be going early July for their first time ever! DS is peanut allergy and T1. What I am looking for are suggestions - all those fun little tricks/freebies/bonuses to pass on. I worry I may have forgotten the best stuff, or it may have changed - buttons for his first visit? Do they still do the fun cut at the barber shop on Main Street for a great price?

Any help you can give me to make their trip that much more special is really appreciated.

TIA and I will post on Disney Family area too.

Definitely get the first visit buttons! I believe you can get them when you check into your resort.

If there are kids, they can write a letter to their favorite Disney character and will get an autographed photo sent to them in the mail! (This also works if you write to a character using Disneyland's address - we did that a few years ago.) I believe the address is:

Walt Disney Company
Attn: Fan Mail Department
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521

If there are any celebrations going on with the family who is visiting, encourage them to let every CM know about it. You never know what kind of pixie dust a CM might sprinkle on your vacation.

When you ride the light rails, ask one of the cast members for a trading card. They'll give you one for the tram you ride. It's great!

Thank you everyone for your input so far....Loving the ideas.

I should have been more specific. What I am looking for are those little tricks to get some freebies or bonuses more than the hot weather tips etc. How they can take advantage of the low cost items that will make the trip extra special. I am sure they will do the souveniers and all that too (you HAVE TO!) but any little add ons would be greatly appreciated.

I am not seeing any "hot weather tips" that you are trying to avoid -- but magic happens when it happens and sometimes it doesn't happen.

since you haven't been in a while, you may not be aware that Mickey will talk to you at his meet n greet in the MK. This is the only place that I am aware of him speaking with anyone, and my kids (DS 7 and DD 2) LOVED it. The meet n greet is in the theater on the right just as you enter MK.

One other thing you could do is tell your sister only about how NASTY Beverly is at the Coca Cola cool spot in Epcot and have her take her husband and son while talking about how GREAT it's supposed to taste. We do this with every 1st timer we take just to watch the face they make (video take for posterity). It's a good cheap laugh.

Hope they have a magical time.pixiedust:
