Tips to ease the split stay?

Our upcoming trip is 6 adults for 6 nights. We are currently in 3 different DVC villas, 2 nights at each. We will have a van. How can I make these transitions easier? I think it will be easier to bring our luggage ourselves in the van right? We will have some breakfast foods and beer, any tips on transfering food? Should I ask for first available rooms? I assume I would have to call the resort each morning for that request. I would appreciate all and any tips. I'm sure there's things I'm not thinking of.

Yes to all of the above. Definitely bring all of your baggage with you, and keep a nice insulated cooler. Speaking from past experience, I've done three resorts in an 8 day stay, and while it was great experiencing different resort, I never felt like I ever got settled in. I would work on trying to eliminate 1 transfer so yuo can relax.

Yes to using the van to transfer luggage, definitely.

There’s no way to contact resorts directly by phone; if you call, you’ll just be getting a call center. I would put that request on each of your reservations now. If your room isn’t ready by the time you arrive at the resort, you can ask at the desk if anything is available, let them know you’ll take the first available room, and leave your stuff with bell services. They have refrigerated storage if you have food that needs to be kept cold.

I agree with roydavid, I would try to change to a 2 way split or better yet, just try to stay in one resort. For 6 nights, one change is enough. Also, Lynne is correct, it is just as well to add your request for an early check in to your current reservations. now.

Are you aware of the changes to FP+ booking windows for split stays? It greatly reduces the probability of obtaining hard to get FP+'s. In your case you would have 3 booking windows with the farthest out possibility to make a FP+ at 60+1.

When you first arrive at your resort call housekeeping and ask about getting a late check out time, if you are interested. That would narrow the 'homeless' period between resorts.

Good luck!

I would never do 3 Resorts in 6 nights. As the others have said try to eliminate at least one. Definitely take your own luggage.

Unfortunately this is the availability for a DVC stay :(

Yea I agree use the van. All the resorts should have a refrigerator you can ask them to put perishables in - ask at Bell services. We have gotten good sized plastic bags from the front desk that you can put your cold items in each time you have to leave them to be refrigerated. Just make sure all containers securely close in the bags obviously. Since you are DVC you will get the room assigned to you and it probably won’t be ready early. I would just park at the new resort early in the day and go to the parks from there after doing early checkin.
