I have seen in other threads that alot of brave souls are going to WDW this summer. Maybe we can give them some tips to keep them cool while there. We have used this one for years, it works for adults as well as kids. To avoid getting rashes from sweating ANYWHERE on the body use diaper rash cream.:thumbsup2 it keeps the moisture away from the body. you can also put deodorant on your feet to keep them from sweating.:thumbsup2

DW likes those gel things you soak in cold water and wear around your neck. I pour cold water on my head (helps if you're bald). I've done that for years in one form or another. It's an army thing

Actually, I avoid WDW in the summer. The last time I was there in the summer was 2002, if memory serves correctly.

I used those gel things in the Army for years and the habit spilled over into camping and golfing. They work best in arid environments, but do okay in humid ones, too. It is a must in my golf bag in Florida, along with my snake bite kit.

you Army guys and your guns. If I had one, the snake would probably wrestle it away from me.

As for beating the heat, go in Feb.

I'd like to see that. Yeah I go in Nov-Jan. That sure beats the heat!

We used soaked kerchiefs in Saudi. That worked OK. The real killer though was MOPP gear!.

I shot a snake with a bb gun once..I felt like I killed Bambis mom!!! I used to have to kill snakes around my house all the time, usually with a shovel...somehow chopping them in half with a shovel and watching them flipflop around didnt make me feel as guilty as sinking a bb into ones head. Ive got issues.

MOPP gear is a great way to shed weight fast.

I'm one of those brave (foolish?) souls camping at WDW this summer. I look forward to hearing some great tips! We've been in Feb. and last Feb it was SO cold that I was wishing I had brought my winter coat with me! I was glad to have my fleece. On the plus side...there was NO line for Splash Mt on a MK EMH night (it was about 40 degrees)!

crocs are also great your feet don't hurt and they let your feet breath in the heat.

Ya know....I just got a pair of fake crocs(walmart brand...WOC'S?) But I cant believe what Ive been missing all this time, these things are unbelievably comfortable. I always thought that your foot being surrounded by styrofoam couldnt be comfortable or cool, but I was sadly mistaken.

I don't own a pair of crocks. I'm way behind the times.

Is it dorky to wear socks with crocks like it is with sandles...remember Minnie's Mate is a guy...Mickey.

I always carry wash cloths with me. I use a small cooler bag and fill a large baggie with ice. I use the ice water through out the day to soak the wash cloths in and put it on the kids necks or wash down their faces. It helps to take the egde off. Find a shaded area and sit for a while. We liked Cinderella's fountain area. The kids got to splash a little, a water fountain near by and shade.:upsidedow
