Hi all,

We are going to be at the BWV is a standard studio room in a couple of months and haven't stayed there before. Do you have any tips regarding the resort or a room location request? Anyone have a room number of a std studio you enjoyed? I'm so clueless right now I don't know if there's really anything special to request in this category!

Thank you :)

I'm also interested in suggestions for 1 Bedroom standard view.

I've stayed in a standard view 1 bedroom and always requested top floor, across from the bus stop and was never disappointed. You can see the fireworks from Illuminations and it's far enough away from the entrance to be less noisy.

Wow, I didn't know that Illuminations could be seen from any std view rooms, that sounds wonderful! Thanks DebbieB:thumbsup2

Thank you so much!

Now if I can just get through to MS to make the request.:headache:

Keep in mind that those rooms can be a bit of a hike from the elevators. If you are traveling with strollers, wheelchairs, ECVs or anyone who can't/doesn't do stairs, you may want to request close to the elevators instead.

But if you can do stairs, there are lots of shortcuts to the bus stop, the pools, the parking lot and the pathway to the Studios in the area Debbie B mentioned. It's our favorite location, too.

Since you aren't going for a few months, you can send your request via email and avoid the busy phones if you like.

You must have read my mind:wizard: ...I was wondering about the location of the elevators. We actually like to be away from the elevators because of the noise. It's probably an unusual request, so we usually get it. :goodvibes

How do you request via e-mail? I've already made the reservation, I just want to add my request to it.

Generally higher floors and farther from the elevators have the best views.

Closer to the elevators have the best access.

First floor (pretty much anywhere - but close to the elevators is better) has the best pool access.

Some of the "great" views are blocked by trees. I think we've pretty much determined pool access is the best bet for us - first floor also makes it easy to head out to the parks.

Note that at the Boardwalk, the lobby is on the second floor. There is only one (I think) Boardwalk View room on the first floor - most are 2nd to 5th floors. There are five floors of standard and Preferred View rooms.

We've never had a view request met. When we ask for high floors end of hall, we discovered how nice it was to be close to the pool. When we wanted to be close to the pool, we ended up on the third floor. They've all been nice rooms, but as far as I can tell, requests are just to tell the room assigner how to create a disappointing start to your vacation.

Hi all,

Thanks for the tips. So if you do get a top floor, end of hall view - I assume there are stairs on that end of the building? My kids are 7 and 11, we don't have any mobility issues or take a stroller now, so if there are stair shortcuts on that end, it would be ok with us.

CarolMN, I'd also like to know how to email a request. I think that sounds efficient and easy.

crisi - I'm sorry you haven't been lucky with room requests. We've pretty much always had ours granted but I hate to say that as I'm sure it'll jinx this trip! This is our first DVC member trip though, are all the rooms (villas and inn) done by the same controllers? I won't have my heart set on a request though as I know it might not happen but I'm a control freak when it comes to our vacations though so I've got to give it a try :)

Thanks again!

Just in the interest of full disclosure, what you can see are some of the higher fireworks from Illuminations. It's pretty cool, but also somewhat limited. :)

Thanks for the picture DebbieB, I can't wait to get there!

Yeah, I kinda thought it would be higher fireworks Granny but tell me, can you see much else of EPCOT from that area - like the Eiffel Tower or anything? If you can see some Illuminations I'm guessing you can't see Spaceship Earth?

79 days . . .

You can see the Eiffel Tower but you can't see Spaceship Earth. If you are in a standard view facing the driveway, if you look straight ahead the American Adventure is on the other side of the trees (it's hard to actually see it). When they used to have the Tapestry of Nations Parade, you could hear the music.
