TIPS: Star Wars Weekends 2011

Thanks to everyone who has posted their information and advice. We will be at SWW Fri June 10-12.
I have a quick question- do the kids need to be with you to sign them up for the JTA? DH gets motion sick and has no interest in doing Star Tours so he was going to go and sign up DS's for JTA while I take them on ST right away. Will that work?
Thanks

Yes, your child needs to be at the JTA sign in desk.

Yes, the kids need to be with you to sign up for JTA. You can not get a ticket if they kids are not present.

Thanks very much for the info- looks like that is the first place we will be heading.

Not that I know of, unless you count people and I don't know how easy that would be. I think think first group gets Darth Maul. The second set is split between Vader and Ventress w/ Ahsoka as their Padawan helper. I'm not sure how random it is or if they switch out in a pattern.

If she really wants Vader I would go during the week.

Thanks for that info! We were going to wait for JTA for a non SWW day just to avoid the masses a bit but my younger son REALLY wants to fight Maul so I will have to ask at sign up if they know which shows he will be at. Will also have to encourage DS to speak up and ask if he can be in front of the stage instead of on.

Weekend 3 is coming up, who's coming and what are your plans? Maybe we can do a Dis meet?

Pretty much decided we'll be there Friday. Guess will by nonex tix this time. Be there Friday till lunch depending on Matt & ray's autograph.

This is ultimately all you can do. I tried getting my son to fight Vader, but was told by multiple CM's that the selection is random. Your best bet is to make sure your son speaks up when they are splitting up the lines.

Can you let us know at what time you got to DHS for Matt's autograph, this is our priority celeb for this years SWW, we are planning on arriving at DHS around 5ish...Thanks...sadly I can't make it Friday as the kids still have school and music practice

From my experience, height has nothing to do with it. They seem to be split randomly.

thanks. I'll just prepare her for the fact she might not get Vader. We'll be back in September so we'll just sign her up again then if she doesn't get to fight him this time.

A word of advice ... if you have your heart set on getting a lanyard, be there June 3rd first thing in the am when they open. We were there opening weekend - the first Friday just after lunch and after standing in line for an hour (if not more), they had already sold out of the Darth Vader Passholder tumbler a couple hours earlier. We were not impressed one bit :sad2:

Thanks for the warning! What time does Jabba's open? Same time as the park or later?

We'll be there on Friday bright & early!!:cool1:

I'll be there Friday - staying at CBR I want to get there before 8am in case they open early! Hopefully the Disney buses to DHS are running that early!

I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I watched some Youtube videos of JTA. It looks like they teach the kids certain moves in order and then they use those moves when fighting Vader/Maul/Ventress.

What happens if a kid "freelances" his moves during his "fight"? Something tells me my DS would try a "Force Push" or "Force Grip", to say nothing of his lightsaber skills.:rotfl:

My youngest has moderate autism & he definitely did a few unique things:) The trainers are really on top of things & keep things moving, but it is a live show so some unexpected kid moves are expected I'm sure. With my son, the trainers were great, they just improved lines and it made the show quite fun for not only him but everyone watching.

There were a lot of really young kids this JTA, so the main Jedi with a mic had some fun quips to go along with some unique little personalities. I'm sure your family will love it! I was worried my son would not be able to do it, but he did beautifully both trips. Disney CMs are wonderful with all typpes of kiddos. MTFBWY
