TIPS: Star Wars Weekends 2011

It didn't seem to be a problem, just be cool about it.

Thanks you!!

I truly did not understand why the CM's cared about this last year :confused3 What is the big deal about letting a few people pass you if you don't care for that character (or in 99% of the cases, already saw him/her)? I never witnesses any fights breaking out over people who were permitted to line jump refusing to go back to their original space in line when the characters switched... IMO, letting the line jumping occur was one of the most generous things I have seen people do in a theme park in awhile :worship:

I have tried to find a link to a SWW map for this year but have not seen one, does anyone have it. Thanks.

You can see all of the same characters that are in the parade all around the park if you don't want to sit in the blistering sun. Super hot, super packed, and super short route.

Regarding the hoopla, if the characters would stand more toward the front of the stage rather than in the middle, it would be easier to see. Much better view on YouTube!

How about the ADULTS kneel down instead so the KIDS can see? Are you kidding me? Sorry, thought this was about the kids! My DS could not see a thing because of all of the big men surrounding him. Ridiculous. My husband and I always give up our views if there are little ones behind us at Disney.

Kneel down? Really? And last time I checked, Disney did not put an age limit on enjoying the festivities, so no, it's not about the children only. I'm sorry, but as a 5' adult, I had trouble seeing, but I did not expect people to give up their spots they spent hours waiting for because I was short, and I'm a Star Wars nut.

Next time, if you want your son to see and you know he's going to be short, maybe you should fit it into your plans and show up early so he's closer to the front. I'm sorry, but the guys in front of me for the opening ceremony for Star Tours were tall but you know what? They stood there since Rope Drop, and they were dripping with sweat. I did not expect them to accomodate me because I was a short girl, nor accomodate the family next to us because they had an 8 year old and a 6 year old.

Couple o' questions

Will we have time to ride TSMM before going to take pictures with characters? I mainly want to see Darth Vader and then the Disney Characters as SW characters (e.g. Darth Goofy). Was thinking we'd be at RD and run to TSMM, ride, then go off to see characters. But, will the lines fill up really fast in the first 15 - 20 minutes? Otherwise, we could just FastPass TSMM and do characters first.

Second question: I am playing around with Hollywood and Vine reservations. I currently have one for 8:05 am and wondering if that will give me any advantage whatsoever. Or....what about an 11:30 am reservation there so we'd be waiting in the a/c prior to the parade. How far back would we be from the parade route once we got done there? (say 12:15/12:30)

Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if lining up at 2-3am will get me a ticket to see Anthony Daniels? I plan on going to the park on Sunday.

I would FP TSMM and go straight to Vader and the Disney SW Characters
Being early for an ADR won't give you any advantage, if you finish before rope drop they make you wait with everyone else. Since the parade route is so short people are grabbing spots 1 1/2 to 2 hours prior.

What time is the parade this coming weekend?
12:40

I think that's a good time to go, but remember he is only signing his 5x7 black and white picture, nothing else.

Do I need to buy my tickets in advance for Sunday june 5th or can I just get them at the gate?

I also saw where some folks were getting there REALLY early, the park opens at 9:00 on Sunday. What time should we be there. I am not thinking that ee want fp for autographs. DS is 5 and LOVES star wars. I am thinking he would rather get a character pic than a "real" autograph. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

 Thank you for posting this!

I have a question, I'd like to see the parade at 12:40 but we have 1:10 ADR's at Sci-fi, can we make it? If so, where would be the best place to stand so that we could run off for our ADR's? Thanks

You'll have time. Stand close to the Hat Stage and after the parade just walk down Commisary Lane (If you're facing the Hat it's to your left)

In line for AD. Next longest line is spence baker Taylor eckstein. Won't tell me chances. For ad. In line since 7A.

Still in line. Park hasn't opened yet. Gaylord line shortest now. Like watching q race. Cooler weather nice.

:headache::headache::headache: just saw that the star wars vinylmation artist will be at DHS today and tomorrow signing vinyls. I never luck out with this stuff. it is always before or after i am there.:sad2::sad2:
