TIPS: Star Wars Weekends 2011

Does anyone know if they are having the Hyperspace Hoopla show in front of the Sorcerer Hat this year???

Does anyone know if George Lucas would be in the parade the morning of opening day?

We are torn between Friday or Sat the first weekend, I have already given up on getting on the ride..LOL
We just want to see characters, parade and the Dance party thing at 7pm.

What is the Padawan Mind thing listed on the schedule?

Can you tell this will be our first SWW..;)

It's been said on other message boards that it will be, but I haven't seen anything official. I know that the official opening ceremony for Star Tours will be taking place in front of the hat, so it would make sense to do the Hoopla there too.

Unfortunately it's looking like I'm not gonna know for sure until I get there and can see the official Star Wars Weekend map and schedule.

This will be our first SWW as well and the famz is all geeked out in antici.... pation!!!

Sorry ... don't know if anyone else responded to this because I didn't read anything past this post. I was distracted! Is this a reference to TRHPS?

Yes Hyperspace Hoopla and the Star Tours opening ceremony will be on the Hat Stage.
I don't think George Lucas will do the parade, but who knows?

Do we yet have WDW official confirmation on Lucas? They were still not saying it before.

I'm glad the shows will be in the main area in front of the hat, last Star Wars Weekend the bottle neck created by the Hoopla was a pain in the tuckus!

We don't have official WDW confirmation on Lucas, but people that work closely with the event (management) confirm him, Hayden is more of a rumor as of now.

:rotfl2: I don't remember seeing the original quote but when I read it, TRHPS was the first thought I had too :lmao: (great Iowa minds think alike)

It looks like Anthony Daniel will do a 30min one man show, here are his tweets about it:
"If I have 5 1 man 30 minutes shows at Disneyworld (sounds like a math test) & I shan't be metioning mice, what should I tell the audience"
" Just timed my 1 man 30 minute show for Disneyworld at 1 man minutes"
I sure hope we get a schhedule before May 20th, it looks like SWW will be jammed packed with stuff to do:
Behind the Force-Clone Wars
Stars of the Saga Q&A
James Arnold Taylor 1 man show
Anthony Daniel 1 man show
SWW Parade
Celebrity autograph sessions
Padawan Mind Challenge
Jedi Training Academy
Hyperspace Hoopla

who has done the Padawan Mind Challenge?

Is it for sharp adults or geared towards children?

Trying to decide if it needs to go on our list.

thanx

Padawan Challenge is only for kids 4 to 12. In the past they've done 2 shows, one with trivia from the original 6 movies the second one all about Star Wars the Clone Wars animated series. The question start out easy enough but then it revs up to sounds that ships make, who said what. The good news is that at the end they do the easiest question and everyone gets to answer and everyone gets a prize. For the original movies Luke comes out to be with the kids and Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano comes out. It's a neat experience if your kids are into SW.

This will be our first SWW and my priorities are to get a picture with Darth Vader and a picture with Jedi Mickey and the rest of the gang. Does anyone know whereabout they will be? And how early I should show up?
Much thanks! :goodvibes

The characters are scattered throughout the park towards Star Tours. Last year Darth Vader was back near the Star Wars Weekend merchandise shops back by the Studio Backlot tour. Jedi Mickey was set up just before you get to the ABC Commissary - keep in mind there are also other characters greeting there and are in a rotation so you may have to take a few trips through the line to get him.

There will be a special SWW map that will show you where all the different Star Wars meet and greet characters are. I hear a lot of them will be moved this year to spread the crowd around DHS.

If it's anything like last year the characters will generally be divided between the "light side" and the "dark side". Darth Vader, Darth Maul and such will be toward the right and back as you enter HS, (backlot), Luke, Leia, Chewbacca and others will be to the left next to Star Tours. Definitely pick up a map when you go in.

Jedi Mickey and such were last year near the Hat on the left side; that could change, though.

Will any adults be dressing in costume? And if so, or if you see anyone, will you post a photo?

There are some adults who dress is some pretty impressive costumes. A lot of them are also happy to pose for pictures with people.
