Tips or tricks to stop locking my knees

I have a horrible habit of locking my knees when I stand.. Any tips or tricks to break myself of that habit? Other then "Stop doing it!!!" :D
 
Do you work out? I used to lock out my knees while standing and I think it was more a muscular imbalance issue and habit as much as anything. I started working the legs hard and noticed that I no longer lock them out.

Look to work both quads (front thigh) and hamstrings (back thighs) through squats, walking lunges, wall sitting, straight leg dead lifts.....
 
ditto cewait. I used to lock all the time, but found that once I started running, and especially after I started cross training, I don't as much anymore. I also find that I shift my weight from one leg to the other when standing still to alleviate soreness and stretch a little after a particularly challenging run (hate when you find hills on your way home on a new, untested route!).
 
thanks, per my other thread I'm going to focus on strength training and get the rest of my body physically in shape then start the mental / physical training for the marathon next year.
