Tips on Walking a Reservation

We are looking at Thanksgiving 2014 BLT. A Saturday to Saturday stay. 2-Bed Room. Standard or maybe Lake view. Will be four adults and two year old. It is our home resort so 11 month window. Any advice welcomed. Such as when to start walking the res, and calling Member Services?

If you want a Lake View villa, there is no need to walk. Just book when your 11 month window opens. You'll be fine.

Since your stay begins on a Saturday, you probably do not need to walk for a standard view, either. If I were walking it, I would book 7 nights, Friday - Friday when the 11month window opens. The following day, I would call MS to add the Saturday and drop the Friday, ending up with the Saturday - Saturday stay I wanted.

Thanks for your advise, will be taking for the first time family members to stay on our DVC. My son has been to Disney many times, but that was before our buying into DVC, It will be our Granddaughters second birthday gift. She at one love Micky Mouse Play House and most of the Disney JR. She is our first grand child and the first of many Disney trips for her.

Thanks, I have enough points to walk, will not have to borrow till I hit Thanksgiving, For Standard I will be borrowing 17 points, for a total of 315 points for the whole stay.
