I am in the process of getting my paper from messy piles here and there to something more organized. I've bought 2 CH paper holders, and have a set of the target cubes so a combination of the two will be used to store it.

How do you organize your paper? I get as far as gathering my colors together and end up with this pile of patterns, disney, holiday, etc. and can't get past there without having three million "themes"...

Please tell me what works for you or what you'd like to try. I'll be the guinea pig!!

Thanks,
Kristy

OK, this is gonna sound weird but I sort them according to ROY G BIV, the colors of the rainbow :goodvibes I know, I narotic! :rotfl:
Then I have the "special" paper in a stack by themselves. I don't sort by holiday or theme I just have that special pile I look through.
Hope that helps :)

I have my solid papers, patterned paper without a them but mostly one color, and cardstock sorted by color in my Target cubes. Then I have my themed papers and sticker, etc. in my Generations accordion file. Basketball, hockey, Christmas, etc. each gets it's own pocket.

I would love to see a picture of someone's TARGET cubes. I can't seem to figure out what they are. :confused3

Great link, nicki dahling! I just love your screen name. :)
I have more shelves in my cubes. I have a total of 18 shelves in 2 cubes. The shelves are about 2 inches apart or so. That's one of the really neat things about the cubes...You can make them however they'll be most useful to you! :flower:

Okay than that is what I was thinking they were. But what section of Target do you find them. Because I didn't see them in the storage section of my Target.

I love the idea of the cubes. But how do you attach the shelves?

I used plastic zip ties that I found in the automotive section, I think.

Thanks for posting the Target cubes, I wasn't sure what you all were referring to either!! :)

i have mine flipped for horiontal storage with a shelf at every square -
the i bout the geberations 12x12 clear envelopes (mikes 1- for $5 with a coupon) and those are filled with papers via maker - ie chatterbox, basic grey, karen foster, mm, stacks, etc) then the envies are labeled on the edge and slid into the slot

cardstock is in my ch holders in the old rainbow theme

Thnaks! I'll check them out. :sunny:
No problem. I got the idea from somebody else on this board so I'm just passing it on. :flower:

I have mine in the 12x12 clear, plastic envelope/folders. Each one has one color in it (ROY G BIV, pink, brown, etc.). I have one with all my Disney stuff, all my patterned paper. DH is finishing off our basment right now, and I have a designated spot for scrapbooking when it is finished, so I will do more organinzing then! :cheer2:

Hi What did you use for shelves or did they come with the cubes. I am from Southern Ontario. Last week I found a pack of 8 cubes for $25.00, but no shelves. I can't waite to start to get my scrapbooking room organized and decorated.

You use the 'cubes' for the shelves
so one package of Cubes will only make 2 squares or 8 shelves (I think)
You make one 5 sided cube
the take the other pieces for the cube and use zip ties to make the shelves within the cube...

Hope that makes sense!

Oh now I get it! I thought you were buying a cube already assembled that came with 3 or 4 shelves. Now I understand the twist tie thing. Great tip!

thanks everyone for your replies. i've got a beautiful rainbow above my scrap table now. still haven't done much with the patterned or themed paper but i've gotten it down into piles so i'm making some progress.

What do you guys think of the vertical paper storge? I've been thinking of giving it a try...Makes some sence on saving space...But what's eveyone else think?

I don't think it really saves space - but it is easier to look through that way!
No pulling down WHOLE piles to find that one shade of red you need
