Tips on organizing paper

So you don't think it saves space? The vertical storge that I have seen have all the colors back to back...continious. Where my horzional storge as it is now...has "spaces" between each color from where the trays connect...I'd say anywhere between 2-4"...depending on how much of what color I have...So I'm thinking if it's all vertical...back to back with no spaces...I'd be saving 10-20". I'm thininking I could fit all the paper/solid cardstock...on one shelf where as I'm using over two with the trays. I'll have to give it a try...Maybe I'm just making space in my mind. :goodvibes

THANKS :cheer2: to everyone who exclaimed how to put shelves in your cubes. Right now I think I only need the two cubes = 8 shelves. The twist ties help keep it all together two. My DD16, boyfriend and his friend put all my cubes together. WELL the next night I went to move them and they all came tumbling down. HEY its all a start to my new scraproom.

Hi, its me again. I have now got my paper organized, but would like to label my shelves. HOW :confused3 and I am still after ways to store my stickers. Some are larger sheets.

Just want to say that I built my storage cube this weekend! So nice to have all my paper organized. I bought the cubes at Walmart - no Target in Canada :sad2:

Oh...That reminds me I was going to say I went vertical...with my paper storage...and YES it saved a TON of space. Before with the paper trays...I took up 2.5 shelves ...and by going vertical it's only taking....less than .5 of one shelf. ...Way less than half a shelf.

I'm going to toss all the paper trays now...but I still need to get some sort of racks or dividers...and that will for sure add some to the space....

Just thought you all might like to know...that I did try it...and that is does save alot of space.

Hey Sandy 22
I am from southern Ontario. I got a pack of 8 cubes at Sams Club for $25.00. I just finished making them. I ended up doing two sets of 2 stacked cubes. 3 have horizontle shelves for paper and such then the 4th has vertical for my albums. They are at the right height to lay a board over for my scrap table. Are you also in southern Ontario? This saturday in Paris Ont. there is a Scrapbooking Expo at the fair grounds.

I have to vote for the Cropper hopper vertical storage too...my paper was such a mess when I had it horizontal...this takes up less rooma and I can just thumb through the paper for what I am looking for...the have dividers, and pockets too...I use those for my larger stickers.

I'm in Eastern Ontario - close to Ottawa. I don't even think we have a Sams Club around here. We do have Costco. You got a good deal - I bought a 4 cube pack (rubbermaid brand) at Walmart for 19.99. A scrapbooking expo? Do you know if its only local or will it travel to various locations?

But if your paper is vertical won't it bend over time?

Not when you have a ton of paper! :rotfl:

If you use the Cropper Hopper (CH) vertical set, you won't have any slouching! The CH Verticals, come with 4 individual holders that you put together inside the large holder. The individual holders are about 1/2" wide and fit 50 pieces of paper, making one set of CH vertical able to hold 200 sheets of paper. Then it comes with divider tabs, I think 12.. so if you don't have a lot of paper, you can use 3 dividers in one of the individual holders, and put multiple groups of paper in it. If you just get the outside part and not the one with the individual holders, it will slouch.

I was concerned about slouching, but really wanted to go vertical for the easy access. I love it. No slouching, and everything can fit on my desk now

This isn't mine (don't have nearly that much paper!!)

The first four on the left, show the CH vertical with the individual holders inside (the light, colored clear things) The remaining ones have enough paper in them, that they don't slouch.

Tha'ts a better picture of the ones with individual holders.

WOW! That was a lot of paper! Thanks for the link - now I understand how it won't bend.

That looks pretty cool. I bought the cubes from Target but they do take up a lot of space. The CH ones look like they would be a lot more compact.

Some people use both. They take the Target cubes, and turn them vertical.. then slide a bit of card board on the bottom and place the CH verticals in there..
