Tips On Not Feeling Awkward with "Face"Characters?

My family (hubby, myself and 2 boys 6 and 9) have no issues interacting with Mickey and the gang. But, when it comes to face characters it feels very forced and awkward. We have dinner and CRT, so we will at least have one meal with princesses.

I bought some autograph books for the kids and I thought that might help. Any other tips?

Thanks!

Autograph books are great. During my last trip I met with a ton of face characters and had them sign a reusable canvas bag, which I found to be a great conversation starter. Merida and the Evil Queen both ended up asking about apples.

For face characters try and think up something from their movie to talk about. Ask Ariel about Sebastian or Flounder or if she's found any dinglehoppers recently (especially if you're at CRT, that could be fun!). As snow White about the Grumpy or Dopey. The list goes on and on. Brainstorming questions might be a good way to pass the time while traveling.

Also try to think up questions for those you don't think you might run into. I met Tink because the line was so short. I ran into Snow White and the Evil Queen while entering into Hollywood Studios one afternoon. You never know who you might see.

I prompt the kids, usually with details about the movie. "Did you want to ask Cinderella about Lucifer?"
