I still haven't heard the age of the pup yet, but I should have added to my above comment re: the bladder the size of a grape, that a very young pup ALSO doesn't have complete control of his bladder yet, just like a child wouldn't before a certain age or stage. Both physical and neurological development are necessary for a dog to have complete bladder control, and, like people, it's individual for every dog.

The vet told them to take his water away while they are out so he won't need to pee so much.
