I am looking for the best tips to get a Good Neighbor Hotel for as low of a price as possible.....

I would like a moderate or superior because my mom wants something a little nicer. She prefers Hilton/Holiday Inn/Best Western style.

We will be staying 4 nights. I love the reviews & pics from Candy Cane Inn. Tips on getting this for cheap?

Really any hotel tips would be appreciated! On our WDW trips we've always done package hotel/food/tix, but we're doing this one as cheap as possible. I'm reading the other pointers on DL for cheap, just now looking for specifics on finding a hotel.

Thanks!

Hojo sometimes has the Entertainment Rate for some of their rooms, for as low as $59/night. They are no Hilton but the rooms are spacious and unless Holiday Inn and Best Western have gone up sharply in quality in the last few years, I found them to be just as nice as those two.

http://www.hojoanaheim.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14 shows the available dates. You just need an Entertainment Card (however you get the card--you can buy from Entertainment themselves but I had so much trouble with them, I think I'd just buy a card from eBay :flower3: ).

We stayed in the $59 rooms (at a slightly higher rate, but not much). I liked the room very much. The only surprise I found was that the "oversized doubles" in some of the rooms are really LONGER than regular doubles--I don't think they are wider than regular doubles. I don't consider that any problem if you're sleeping in the bed by yourself but it may not be comfortable with a partner.

You can also get 15% off regular rates using the code LNDB, or if you have an Annual Pass you can get 20% off with LNAP.

If you are more interested in a nice room than proximity to the parks, then Priceline's "Name Your Own Price" or Hotwire might be a better option, though. (Some "Good Neighbor" hotels aren't really within easy walking distance of Disneyland either, so I didn't know what you are really looking for. I would personally prefer to be closer to the parks than to be in a nice room, provided the room isn't filthy, but I know some others have different opinions.)

Have a great trip!

I have an Entertainment Book/card I got here in Oregon...would that work?

Yes, that would work, it does not have to be an anaheim area book/card

I second Hojo, I would classify it as moderate in terms of room space, cleanliness, pool, true hotel with interier coridors. I would give it less than moderate on the terms of no room service or on site restraunt (but those are a non-issue for me) Hojo really is a great hotel and within walking distance wich is a huge plus. And then if you can get the ET rate, even more of a plus, definatly true when doing a budget trip.

I have done priceline a few times with name my own bid and I do $39 a night bid wth 2.65 star they have always bumped me up to 3 star hotel. It had been the holiday inn on south Manchester normal they charge about $100 a night. I have also done hotwire 45$ a night and got the Hilton but I didn't line it. $12 a day for parking and nothing special and not very impressive. We have also done hotwire $55 a night a got holiday inn on walnut before and after the remodle. Not a bad place. Ok food. All the hotels had nice pools/hot tubs. All of them we took art bc too far for us to walk. The holiday inn on s manchest was our fav. Best food and prices even at the bar. They had very nice rooms with a fridge in it. A microwave u can use 24-7 in the gift shop.
I really want to try hojos but they never have the special rate when we go. :-(
