DH are leaving for a 3 day trip tomorrow. We just booked it a few hours ago and there was no availability onsite so we are staying offsite. We don't even have park tickets right now. I'm going to buy our AP's as soon as I finish typing this. Any advice for a 3 day last minute trip for 2 adults? We have been many times before but never with literally zero planning!

We were at WDW for four days last weekend. Didn’t have any plans (other than MNSSHP and TSL EMM) - no FPs or ADRs booked. Really just did whatever we wanted as the mood struck. Used Rope Drop one day at Epcot to knock out a bunch of headliners. Searched for FPs that day and other days and just rolled with whatever came up. Searching for two is often easy. Refresh is your friend.

The beauty of APs is the freedom to come and go as you please, and knowing there is a ‘next time’ to do a favorite ride you either couldn’t find a FP for or didn’t want to wait standby.

And as the PP said, have fun! :-)

I would wake up each day and just decide then what we wanted to do. Grab whatever FP+ we wanted for the day, grab an ADR if I want and go with the flow!

My most last minute trip was only about 4 weeks out. It was the best trip ever!!!

I think having good knowledge of the parks is much better than having a detailed touring/FP/ADR plan. At least you know the ins and outs and little secrets here and there.

Have fun!

Without having advance FPs, and 3 days to work with, I would rope drop MK, HS, and AK. Epcot is the easiest park to navigate in the afternoon/evening without plans, so I would jump over there from one of the other parks once or twice. Decide what nighttime spectaculars you want to see and plan around those. Other than those pieces of advice, just understand that it's a different kind of trip and don't expect too much. You'll have a great time.

Remember that other guests have until midnight the night before to cancel ADRs for the following day, so there is always a flood of ADR openings after 10pm the night before, including at hard-to-get restaurants. I recommend checking the app each night and picking up any ADR you might want for the following day.

Another tip is fastpass refresh while you are in the parks! Hard-to-get fastpasses might not be available in advance, but on the day, you can often get them just by constantly refreshing (which you do by switching between two times: e.g., search for 10am, then search for 10:15.

Enjoy your trip!

P.S. I just checked, and there is now availability on-site at two of the all star hotels for 3 days starting tomorrow, if you'd still prefer to be onsite.

ME TOO! :chat:

And agree with all.

Friday we were with people who had day tickets and no MDE SO ........... we just went with the flow and booked at the kiosks until the MDE finally linked them to us so we used our phone. We did quite a bit. We pulled up dining when we were hungry and able to make ADR at LTT within 30 minutes.

Saturday we got up spun the wheel to see what was the hardest FP+ to come up ... Frozen boat in Epcot so off we went and had a good day there then got on the dining again to book and off we went.

Decided Sunday we would do MK since just two of us (VERY CROWDED and SKIES FELL OUT) ............... but because we have APs I was happy to call it a day, head to our offsite hotel for the night. Thought about Disney Springs for dinner but ......... ate in hotel restaurant and got comfy. Big because first time since 1971 I was in MK and didn't ride HM. We were on our way there but soaked so left.

We never feel pressured with the AP; we actually enjoy some things ......... glassblower on Main St making a pumpkin, celebration of a veteran, wandering in shops, people watching with an ice cream, train ride, watching the manatees have lunch, exploring Epcot exhibits, slowly enjoying the AK animal trails ..... AND APs make it perfect to do all the little extras like tours, special events and more.
