Tips for valet / bell services

I am at Boardwalk right now, and am valet parking my car. So...... What is the going rate for a tip for the valet that brings the car to you? Do you tip the person that parks the car, upon arrival?

Today was my first day here, I tipped $2 when my car was brought from the lot , and didn't tip the valet when I returned to the resort and parked the car.


Also, I'll be changing resorts and am considering having bell services transport my stuff (3 med sized suitcases, and some small grocery items). How much do I tip the person that takes my bags? How much do I tip the guy that delivers them to my new room?

I feel like I am falling behind in tipping knowledge , plus, with the cost of everything going up, I believe I may not be keeping up with inflation.

We usually tip the valet $2-3. We don't tip when dropping off the car, just when picking it up. (The valet parking fee is $15 per day, and a 20% tip would be $3.)

I'm not sure about tipping on bags. If we get assistance from a bellhop, I believe we have tipped between $3-5, we usually only have 2 - 4 items of luggage.

If we ask for extra pillows or anything from housekeeping, we tip $2 when they bring something to the room.

Is there a rule against it?.... Or is it one of those subjects that makes people lose their minds?

Anyhow, going to pick up the car now, headed to Beaches andCream for lunch, then DHS.

We usually tip $4 for pick-up, nothing for drop off. I think the going rate is $2 per bag for valet.

Thanks, I just tipped $3 for valet, gave $5 yesterday for 3 bags. I guess, when in doubt, add a dollar to be on the safe side. At the end of a week it's an extra $10, which is nothing on vacation.
