DH really wants to go to WDW next spring before DD turns 3 in August, but our 2nd child will be just about 6 months old. What is it like traveling to WDW with a 5-6 month old? Any suggestions? Tips? Did you need a bouncy seat or exersaucer for the room? How did you handle that (we'll be flying)? Thank you in advance!!

I did DL when Russ was six months old - but, I had a lot of help. (Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie, my best friend and her mom.) IMHO, it was our easiest trip. He didn't know who the characters were but he enthusiatically greeted them anyway. He was still nursing and not on solid foods, so I could feed him wherever, whenever, without worrying about bottles or spoons or other stuff. He still napped in the stroller so we could baby swap easily during nap time. He loved all the rides we could take him on (especially IASW!) I had a Snugli for when he wanted to be carried (and my collection now includes a Moby and a Mei Tai.)

We brought a couple toys (mostly teething toys at that age!) but no exersaucer or anything. He was too tired to play in the room. Oh, and I brought my own Pack'n'Play (as one of our checked bags) for him to sleep in, but he ended up in the bed most nights.

We just got back from a four night/five day trip in May with our then four year old, our two year old, and our then six month old! It was just me and my husband so we were outnumbered by the kids, but the trip was great!! The baby was the easiest one to take care of...Like the previous poster I was nursing him exclusively so feeding was a breeze. I used the baby stations @ MK and found quiet spots @ the other parks....Our son napped well in his stroller (we brought ours from home). And we also used our Baby Bjorn carrier. We took him on lots of rides (even the Safari ride @ AK even though it was quite bumpy)!! He loved it all. No exersaucer or bouncer....We used Disney's pack and play (We stayed @ POR), but also like the previous poster he ended up in the bed....I think that age is a terrific age to travel with your baby because they aren't fully mobile and don't mind hanging out in the stroller...at least ours didn't....Good luck!
