Hello all. Me and my family will be visiting Disney World for the first time in a couple of weeks. I'm claustrophobic. I feel pretty confident I've identified what rides to avoid and have acquired fast passes for rides with the longer lines. What I'm not sure about is what to expect when exiting magic kingdom after the fireworks. How long does it take to get through the crowded main street area and out the exit? We'll be walking back to the contemporary so I don't need to wait for a monorail. Just wondering how long I'll be stuck in the mass of people exiting. Thank you for any info and advice.

This thread about anxiety should have some information that would be helpful for you.

If you decide to stay in the park for the fireworks, my suggestion would be to not try to leave with the crowd. Stay put and let the crowd start to thin out before you move. Most of them will be leaving in the 15 minutes after the fireworks end, so if you stay put, they will get ahead of you and you should find a lot less people when you get ready to leave.

Thank you Sue. Do you know how long it takes to get out of the parking lot at Hollywood Studios after the fireworks? Don't want to miss the Star Wars fireworks but also don't want to get stuck in a parking lot for hours because of the bottleneck.

It can take a long time - or at least feel like a long time.
Again, I would wait a while after the fireworks to leave. Let the people who want to rush out go out in the Crowd. It usually only takes 15 minutes or so for the crowd to get thinner.
So, you can spend the 15 minutes trapped in the crowd or sitting somewhere letting the crowd pass you by.

I agree with Sue as leaving the park after fireworks is wall to wall people. so where would you rather be trapped in a crowd of people or in your car in a crowd of cars. I would sit in theater and let everyone leave, then after 20 to 30 minutes start walking slowly out to the front of park.
