Hello, I just watched a video on how to take photo's of sunset/sunrise. It said to under expose to get warm, rich, bright colors. Start in aperture priority mode, select f/5.6 & see what your camera chooses for the shutter speed. Lets say it chooses 1/1000 of a second. Then go manual & double the shutter speed, so f/5.6 & 1/2000 of a second. Then you can go from there if you need to under expose a bit more, or slow your shutter down a bit.
Wondering if this is good information?

I also read in Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure to take a meter reading to the side of the sun. Then recompose using those settings.

I go in spurts with my photography. :rotfl: Sometimes it's every thing in sight. Or sometimes it's portraits all the way. But I've been trying to venture out more. Last month it was moon photography. lol I posted a thread about going to Yellowstone next month. Trying to get prepared, & thought the opportunity might arise for some beautiful sunset/sunrise shots. I haven't tried any sun set/sunrise photography yet, so I'm trying to find the best advice to get me started. Thanks
