hi. just looking for any tips about when to arrive for playhouse disney. i dont know anything about it really- is it a continuous running show like a ride, where you just wait in line or do you have to make arrangements ahead of time? thanks for the help!

I have lucked out each time I went to this show we managed to get in at the end with no wait. I also go and get FP for Little Mermaid before we go inside. When we get out we then head to FP entrance of LM the parking for Playhouse Disney is better than the parking for LM.

You have to wait outside the doors until the "group" before you exits. I think it is a half hour show (not a ride at all) The waiting is not bad at all. BEWARE there is a little stand selling Playhouse Disney merch. right where you have to wait. It is tough for little ones to look at it and not want to touch it! If I remember correctly there is shade to wait in. We watched a family get their portraits drawn while we waited to go in. The kids loved the show. They had Bear in the Big Blue House, Stanley etc.......very very cute. You sit on the floor inside.

If you have small children, I would head here for the first showing of the morning... don't be surprised if you end up coming back later for another one. That is my kids favorite thing to do in MGM (4 1/2 yrs. and 3 yrs.).

Try to sit on an aisle - there are chances for the kids to get up and dance and even though you aren't allowed to sit in the aisle, they will allow kids to get up there as long as they sit down within the lines. They will love the bubbles that float down from the ceiling.

Most of all, have fun!

The last 3 times at MGM, we always did the first morning show. We started waiting in line about 20 minutes before show time and sat up front. The line wait went really quick. It is not a large area inside and you sit on the floor. Even the back seats are good seats if you happen to get there later. As the other poster said, sit on the aisle. It gives your kids a chance to dance, jump and chase the bubbles that come down from the ceiling. Have fun!

I can't wait for my not quite 2 yr old to see this

Yes she will and so will you. I cried the first time I took my 2 yr old. She was up dancing and clapping and so happy. I'd never seen her experience such pure joy that I was a sobbing mess. It was a lovely moment.

I would agree with surfgirl - get there early in the morning. My boy's love this show!!! You have a better chance to get up front, we did last time we saw the show. This way you can see the show later in the day.

Is it wrong for me to want to see this show, Playhouse disney started when my daughter was born, now shes gonna be 7 and her brother 10 LOL think they will sit thru it?

thanks for all the tips. so fast pass is not available for the show, but it does run throughout the day, right? :flower:

We are going to MGM our first day at WDW. Sooo we will get to MGM around 1:00. Does anyone know how late the show runs? We have got 4 kids just dying to go to the show.

Another thing that others haven't mentioned is there are tvs that play clips throughout the line, it really helps to entertain the kiddos!

Nah, go with the attitude that you want to see the "little" ones dancing in the aisles. It IS fun. Go as "observers", not as participants! Or, go with the idea that you want to see it so that you can report to others about it. :teeth:

I am SO glad someone else cried! DD was only 9 months but the look on her face made me cry hysterically! I missed most of the show wiping the tears from my face and watching her face, but it is such a great show!

We went about 20 minutes before the show and my dd (then 3) had fun watching the tv clips with the other kids in line. We sat right up front for the show, but the way the stage is raised, you can see from anywhere. Our dd had an absolute blast singing and clapping to the music. It was very interactive.

We also had luck going to a show around dinnertime - I think it was on the EMH night. We walked in and were right near the front.

How easy is it to get an aisle seat? Do you just go in and sit where you want, or do you go in single file and are "escorted" to a certain row, seat, etc.? :confused3

It should be pretty easy to grab an aisle, even if you have to sit back a little ways. Try to be early in the line.

We also had great success planning to be at the first show of the day, and yes, we did return for another showing later in the week.

We also "sufferred" from the merch. cart just outside. Good stuff, though.

Our just turning two year old loved this show so much.

I videotaped the entire show and put much of it into our trip video. Now 2 1/2 years old, he asks to watch the video every day and especially the Bear part. He actually walks around saying "Disney, Bear, Tutter, Ojo, Pippop-Go Disney". He doesn't yet understand that we ARE going back in July, but I know we will be at that show a couple of times that week.

Enjoy!

LOL!!! I cried too. My son was 2 when we went last year. He had SO much fun. During the dancing he moved over to the right ( I couldn't reach him) and then darted for the stage. I was trying to make my way through the kids,he actually got on the steps that lead to the stage when finally the host grabbed him. I'm standing up saying "yeah, he's mine". It was great. I can hardly wait to go again this year.
