We try and drink plenty of water, staying hydrated and flushing "extra" sugars out of your system is vital.
The amount of exercise you get will spike your readings if you aren't use to heavy walking. So flushing the system out helps for us.
Also if on the
DDP try and get healthy alternatives. Of course you are at WDW who isn't going to cheat?? But only splurging on the desserts occasionally shouldn't hurt to bad.
Another tip if on insulin you can take the insulin to the park with you and leave it at the first aid station. You don't have to carry it around with you everywhere.
Obviously keep low on the carbs, as it is sometimes easier to eat them at WDW than sweets.
Lastly try and keep your normal schedule from home. Eat when you are use to eating, test morning, noon and night if you can and enjoy.
WDW is not to bad to do as a diabetic, but routine is essential.
Tell your friend have a safe and happy trip!
