Tips for making it through the day, Rope drop to close...

I'm not sure how physically fit you guys are, but I feel like I should add some advice nonetheless. Back in 2012, I took my kid to disney. A couple of months before we went, I started exercising for 20-30 minutes a day. And I know there are some other responses on other threads about starting a walking regimen about 6 weeks before you go. I just have to say that I didn't purposely start exercising solely for disney. I was doing it to lose weight. However, I was so thankful I had started working out. My kid (who was 4 at the time) hurt himself in Fantasyland, and I had to carry him all the way to the front of the park to see the nurse. In addition to that, I had to carry him from the bus stop to our hotel room almost every night. It was very difficult, but doable because I had been working out.

I also live in Texas. So, the heat is comparable to Florida (maybe less humid here). However, because I'm used to the heat, I know how to put up with it. If you can start a walking regimen during a hot part of the day (during lunch or right after work), that might get you ready for any type of heat Orlando sends your way.

Anyway, good luck!

This won't help at MK, but at AK and Epcot you can stop off for drinks somewhere when you need a break in the AC. At Epcot, our favorite places to do this are La Cava del Tequila in Mexico and the wine bar near Tutto Gusto in Italy. Rose & Crown is a good stop too if you can get seats. In AK, Nomad Lounge is perfect for this as well. I haven't been to Rainforest Cafe at AK, but the one near my house has a nice bar so that may be an option too.

I'm not sure if closing for capacity is a concern and that's why you don't want to leave, but if that's not a concern, you could also walk over to the Boardwalk for a drink and a break from Epcot and at MK, ride the monorail to one of the 3 monorail resorts for a drink and a break.

Epcot: American Adventure (A/C, longer show), The Land ride (a/c, relaxing), back garden area of the UK--many afternoons has 'rock' music concerts, at other times it is quiet and relaxing with the hedge maze where younger ones to burn off energy if they've been in a stroller all day (been there, done that!). Get a snack and sit down on one of the benches overlooking the lake. Ferry ride across the lake, cuts out some walking and lets you sit for a few minutes.

Magic Kingdom: A/C 'longer' rides/shows: Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree, Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, Small World, Carousel of Progress, Mickey's Philharmagic. Outside: People Mover in Tomorrowland--we find that very relaxing!

My family and I always take a starbucks break every park day. Hydration and sitting for a bit! Usually sometime after lunch, mid-afternoon. We also like to hit up the less populated attractions mid-day because you won't be dealing with long lines and lots of standing. CoP, Tiki Room, CBJ, Muppetvision, American Adventure, all those good low key attractions.

15 minutes of sitting for every 2 hours of standing/walking helps me go a lot longer during the day.

Take your time wherever you are that day. Beautiful views and quality entertainment are all around the World Showcase. It’s a great place to chill.

That said, I used to love Ellen’s Energy Adventure as somewhere to power nap, but it’s gone now. :(

American Adventure is the next best thing. The garden area near Katsura Grill (QS in Japan) is also a great spot to catch a few Zzzz’s.

We are strictly break people now, but back in my younger days I've done RD to close - and back in college it was RD to close and then over to Pleasure Island. (I have no idea how we survived that!)

But in any case, for 3 days, I think you'll be fine. Just pay attention to yourself: stay hydrated, eat, rest when you need. I think my biggest concern would be if you had to be at work the next day.
