We are so excited to be leaving for Disneyland on Monday (Labor Day) for our 2 year old son's first trip, where we will stay for 3 nights at the GCH. We are anticipating that Monday will certainly be far busier than Tues-Thur so we don't really have too many expectations for that day. However, we are getting there late in the day (mid to late afternoon) so hoping the crowds may have thinned out a bit.

I am writing to ask any advice for what to do on Monday. We have reservations at Blue Bayou at 7 and would like to see the fireworks at 9:30, but other than that we are not sure what to do to minimize the impact of the crowds. Being that this will be our son's first experience there, do you have any suggestions for how to use the first afternoon/evening? Also, how early do you think we need to get a spot for the fireworks? Thanks so much!

Crowds should be a minimal problem. Most people will be leaving on Monday and it should not be terrible and will probably thin out during the day like you expect.

You might grab a couple FPs so you can get in more rides. And use Rider Swap so the parents can take turns going on rides while the other waits with the kids. Make sure you get in Screemin in DCA and POTC before they close for rehabs.

I am at the parks right now, and while it is busy, it isn't too terribly crowded. I would grab a FP for Space or Indy and ride Pirates or Jungle Cruise or Buzz. Pirates is at 15 minutes right now, Jungle Cruise is 10, Buzz is 20.

There is also the parade, which I think is very entertaining. It has two showings in the late afternoon and early evening. Between riding a few rides, watching the parade, dinner, and fireworks, I would say you have the makings of a great evening! Enjoy!

Thanks for the tips--great reminder about the rides that will be closed the rest of our trip. We may not get to DCA for Screamin since it closes early for WOC but will definitely at least go on Pirates.

That's great news that the crowds are not so bad--the waits even for the weekend sound very manageable.
