Hi all,

Getting on the Fantasy this weekend for a 7 day cruise and we have a party of 6 adults. Any tips on getting reservations for either Palo or Remy? We have a 11 port arrival time BTW. Also any thoughts on what day in our rotation might be best?

Thanks,
Rob

The only way to get them at this point is go to where they are doing dining changes/reservations on board - it will be in the navigator. If there are any left it will be there.

As for when? Given the IMHO nasty look of the new Pirate Night menu, i'll now be joining the ranks of those booking Palo for that night. But at this point I would say whatever night you're able to get.

When you check in at the port, they will give you the Personal Navigator for the first day. Usually on the first page it says where to go for reservations. They usually start taking reservations at 1pm, but I would suggest to be there 15 minutes early.

As to which night:
I would not choose Palo or Remy for a night when I have a long day in port planned.
Otherwise, have a look at the menus here: http://disneycruiselineblog.com/menus/ and see which are the ones that you are least interested in. On a 7-night Fantasy you ought to have the rotational menus for Animator's, Enchanted Garden and Royal Court and then Prince and Princess, Captain's Gala, Pirates and See Ya Really Soon.
Also, you might want to take into account which dining room you are most happy to miss out on. The Key to the World card that you get at check in has your dining rotation. It should be something like AERAERA or similar. Each letter stands for a different dining room. The most interesting letter to look at would be the A for Animator's as this restaurant has two shows. On the first night eating there Crush will swim around and talk to guests, on the last night eating there there is a show with characters drawn by the guests dining there. I personally really dislike the second show as the menu is shortened for that evening, there is no choice of appetizer or soup, just the main courses and a limited choice in desserts. But it is very special and most people consider it an evening not to miss.

If you dont get one when you board, keep checking back as they have occasional cancellations throughout the cruise. Especially from people that have been on excursions all day and are just too tired.

If you can, get a night while your cruising. We did a dinner at Palo while we were cruising. I booked that night as soon as I could so. When we went on the dream, Palo was pretty much booked up every night

Hi Rob, I assume this is your first cruise with Disney. If that is the case, you may not want to do Palo or Remy on the night you have standard rotational Animators Palatte. They have a fun show where as you sit down your are given a marker and paper in which to draw a character for the after dinner show. Its pretty neat how it shows up. But if that doesn't sound fun, then book the other restaurants.

Thanks everyone. It's my first cruise as suspected. I appreciate the tips. We will look at our dining rotation and see what would work best for us. Also we will head to the reservation area early to try and get something on our preferred night.

Is there a wait list or do you have to keep checking back hoping for something to pop up?

There was a waitlist when we did not get Palo brunch in the Magiccine cruise. But you should be fine, they do keep some reservations for those who do not get them online before the cruise. And on a 7 night cruise there are more evenings to spread people out.
