Anyone have an opinion on when we could find a short line for this ride? Admittedly, we haven't really been looking at wait times so I have no idea how crowded (or not crowded) it normally is but I really want to take DS on it and he would't be patient enough to wait more than about 15 minutes. Or maybe I should say DH would't be patient enough to wait that long for that ride. :rotfl: It's just such a short ride we don't want to wait too long for it. Any thoughts?

The line looks fairly long but it moves pretty fast considering how slow it is.
Considering it's the only ride in toontown...there's always going to be a fairly long line, at least that's been my experience.

The lines for this anytime we've gone have been very long. The ride itself takes about 15 secs..... once around the track. We skip it, not worth it & the last time we sat & watched for a couple minutes: a small child looked like they were slipping out of their seat & looked like they were going to fall out!!! Scared the crap out of us. I have a friend that says, big people (adults) don't really fit in it well & you feel like you're falling out...... so we've always by-passed this one. That's just our opinion on this, I'm sure others will give their thoughts on this.
Hope you have a great trip!!

We did Morning Madness one day and rode right after it opened. Of course, I guess it all depends on how crowded Toontown is that day. But that is what we did, and there was no line! :)

I've never tried first thing after ToonTown opens, but I imagine that would feature a short line. I have found very short waits in ToonTown after dark, but before the fireworks, even on a day when the park was pretty busy.

If you happen to be there on a night when the park closes later, but there are no fireworks, ToonTown may well have no waits for anything. Now, this is taking things to the extreme, but once a buddy and I rode Gadget's Go Coaster 42 times in a row just because we could (and because we are insane). :rotfl:

What makes GGC so long is not the line itself. It is that it only has one train. So the train takes off, does its thing for 30-40 seconds, then returns. Everyone gets off. New people get on. Then it goes again.

So even with a short looking line, this is a slow loader and it takes awhile.

When we do GGC we always do it first thing when TT opens. The wait is zero. about 15 years ago we waited 45 minutes for this little coaster mid-day. Never again. :)

I mainly just want to give DS3 a taste of what it's like to go on a roller coaster. At some point before our APs expire we might want to try him on Matterhorn but not without a trial run on the Go Coaster first. That way if he really doesn't like it, it will be a short ride. I think he'll like it though because he's liked all the rides he's been on so far and his favorites seem to be the ones with a bit more thrill to them (Dumbo and Fliks).

I've been on it before and don't remember feeling like I was falling out but that was several years ago so I might not be remembering it right.

It sounds like my best bet will be first thing in the morning, which is what I figured but thought I would ask. I like going to TT at night, like SK was mentioning but since we just go for day trips we're not always there very late. Does the Morning Madness thing (or whatever it's called) happen every day or is it only certain days? Since we don't have tickets to get in, it would be better to go on a day they didn't have that (if there is such a day).

Thanks! Yeah, i knew it was a slow loader. We want a zero wait since I know it's not worth a long wait but we still want to give DS the experience of riding it. I think we'll head there first thing one of these days.

That's awesome! I thought my record of 8 times in a row (or was it one trip?) was a lot. :) (Toontown really was a treat back when it consistently stayed open late.)

I was sooo excited when the ride opened...I've always loved Gadget, so I couldn't believe she was getting her very own roller coaster years after Rescue Rangers went off the air. The first I heard about it was when I got a piece of a Toontown map from Burger King. That drawing shows the coaster going upside down. I was terrified! :scared1: So I was a little surprised to actually ride it in real life. :) I still don't think it's a bad little coaster, but I'm still semi-young and semi-agile.

Per my YouTube (can't post the link yet), I apparently last rode it the morning of Sunday, November 20, 2005. Things were getting quite busy for Thanksgiving but I still only waited in line maybe 10 minutes. Considering my video is 53 seconds long, that's not exactly the best wait-to-ride ratio, but it wasn't bad.

I am going to HAVE TO watch that someday.

Until, oh, a few months ago I thought it had to do with Inspector Gadget somehow. :headache: :rolleyes1  :confused3 :scared:

On another note, however, I *adore* your username. Might go pop that movie in right now!

:rotfl2: That's funny! I can see how people these days might not know who Gadget is since the tv show was so long ago. I used to watch Rescue Rangers (even though I believe i was in high school at the time) so I knew who it was but it is sort of an odd character to have a ride.

There's a big difference between MTTMM days and non-MTTMM days.

Wait times for GGC:

First thing on MTTMM days: ~30 minutes

First thing on non-MTTMM days: ~5 minutes

HTH :thumbsup2

Thanks! We will definitely try to go on a non-MTTMM day. We often go on Sundays so that should work out good.

One more question. Toontown always opens an hour after the park opens for non-MTTMM people?

Yes, an hour after the park opens. There's generally a cluster of people (with strollers) waiting, so you'll want to head over a little bit before TT opening so you're at the front of the pack. Give yourself time to park the stroller, if you use one!

I love Gadget! I used to come home from work (preschool) and watch Disney Afternoon when I was about 21. She was my favorite because she was smart and fixed things.

When the boys were little we went straight over to Toon Town when the park opened. I guess now it opens later, but I'm sure it didn't open late then. We rode the coaster over and over and they let us stay on because no one was in line. We then went straight Mickey's house and had no line to have a picture with him. :)

If you go to the morning madness ceremony walk over to gadgets go coaster after the ceremony it opens a few minutes after and you can just walk right on. Other wise Ive never really seen a line unless its in the summer time.
