Hoping some of you can share your experience travelling with a (almost) 2 yo to DW. What attractions are best (we are thinking of doing MK and AK over 3d since I am in a conference the rest of the days). I'll be bringing my own stroller. We have a quick serv. dining plan and a studio with kitchenette. Any advice to make the most of the trip is welcome. He does pretty well out for a long day and will sleep in a stroller when tired so that is not an issue. Thanks!

We took DS at 21 months, and found that he liked the rides, liked the characters, LOVED the fireworks, LOVED the playgrounds and fountains, LOVED the animals at AK...but was scared to tears by applause and cheering crowds...so all shows were out the rest of the trip. We still don't know what that was about, and he has since outgrown whatever it was.

It's hard to tell with that age, some are afraid of characters, some are afraid of dark rides, so I suggest just try a few things the first morning and gauge the reaction to inform your choices for later.

Try not to have too many expectations and go with the flow is my best advise I guess!

We took DS when he was 19 months old. (Returning in Dec with a 4 year old and 21 month old). He liked the characters and fireworks. He actually did well with rides - HM, POTC, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh at MK and then at AK he liked the Tricera Top Spin, safari, and train ride out to the petting zoo. We didn't go to any shows because we didn't think he would sit through them. But now that they both have been to Sea World a number of times we will be trying some shows this time around.

Knowing he will sleep in the stroller is half the battle, IMO. LOL DD at that age was scared of POTC, HM & Snow White. She LOVED everything else, including characters.

All kids are different though...my only tips are to take it at his pace, enjoy every one of his smiles & laughter, take lots of pics & make lots of happy memories.

We took DS last year when he was 25 months old. He did really good, slept in his stroller ect. However he was a much happier guy when we went back to the room and had a rest in the afternoon then when he passed out in his stroller. You could see by the end of th week the fact his routine was all over the place was having a toll on him ( he's all about routine) He was using his soother more and since he's a tall guy and looks older than he is, we got some wonderful looks as he was sleeping with a soother in his mouth in the parks.
He did really good on the rides, one thing we did do, which worked well was we got the glow sticks from Michaels and made them into bracelts for the dark rides they were his bravery bracelets. He would play with that on those rides and he was ok ( Haunted Manison and Pirates till the drop)
