Tips for DLH

At the end of Jan we are staying in the DLH for the first time!!

We've been to DLRP a few times but I just wonder if there were any secrets, hints or tips worth knowing about to make the most of the DLH!

Get to breakfast at 07-30 and then you will get the best opportunity of character photo's by the area where you go into breakfast. After this it gets really busy. I think 07-30 is the earliest you can go in. Another bonus of this is that you get in the parks earlier.

Also at 16-00 (I think) at weekends go in the entrance lobby/reception where character come down the stairs and do a bit of a dance with the kids to music. Good photo opportunity. I think it is 14-00 in the week. Check with the concierge. They will know.

If you can splash out have a meal in Inventions. It is pricey but the food selection is very good and you get lots of character interaction and photo opportunities again. We always have one meal there each visit. Guarantee you will enjoy it.

If you like a beer but don't fancy paying 7-8 Euros, you can buy cans in the shop upstairs and they sell them individually for 3 euros. Still expensive but half the price of a 50cl glass in the bar area.

Didn't use the pool this year so don't know if it gets busy like it does in the summer. I think it is open until 22-00 though, which is good.

If you have anything that you want to keep chilled then ask the concierge desk. They have a fridge which you can keep things in and they give you tickets each time you drop them off so you can collect them again next time. We did this with some special food for my daughter that we brought with us.

Enjoy. It is a great hotel and the decorations add to the Christmas atmosphere. Very special.

It was surprising how much of an appetite you build up in those 2 hours. This also meant we didnt need any lunch and also didnt feel we needed to rush to get in

The characters dancing arent always on every day but you can pick up a 'newsletter' in the main reception area which tells you the events for that week

Also keep your eyes open there are often characters wandering round in the area upstairs near the bar and restaurants

I think if I'm ever lucky enough to stay here that's what I'd do.
