Last month, we surprised DD with a trip to WDW for her birthday. Next spring, we hope to take our first Disneyland vacation during her birthday. I looked online, and I'm not really impressed with the princess or pirate cakes. Is the "My Disneyland Birthday Party" something that a 13 year old would enjoy, or is it for little kids?

What hints/tips/ideas do you have for making her 13th birthday magical? Thanks!

Get a birthday button right away. Note on any reservation that you are celebrating her birthday.

You might want to do an "In room celebration" through Dream Makers.

At 13 maybe she would like a nice dinner.

It really depends on your daughter. Suggestions for what my daughter's would like... Fantasmic! dessert seating, dinner at one of their fav restaurants, I do not suggest the cake in the box or the party. They are more for the younger set. I do highly recommend the Disney bakery cakes. You can order them for sit down restaurants.

Thank you! I will definitely order a cake. Do you happen to know the phone number to the bakery? Which restaurant would you recommend for her birthday dinner? She is not picky at all. She loves steak, so somewhere that has a good steak would probably be a good choice.

My daughter doesn't really like cake so we wouldn't want that. But some in-room surprises for her would be GREAT!

I second the in-room celebration. Although I did the "From Mickey & Minnie With Love" for my husband and I because it was our first anniversary (and my DHs first trip to Disney). You do have to be staying on property for these though. (We stayed at the PPH)

Also, if you know of something that is available in the parks, you can have the Disney Dream Makers add it to your celebration. Since this was my DHs first trip, I had them add the traditional Mickey ears for both of us with our name embroidered on them. (For the cost of the ears.)

Also, if your daughter has a favorite character, they may be able to get an autographed picture for you. We got one from Mickey & Minnie when we cheked into our hotel, along with our buttons that said Happy Anniversary & 1st Visit (for my DH). Throughout our trip, people would wish us Happy Anniversary, and at Cafe Orleans where we had lunch one day, they brought out Beignets for us. At Goofy's Kitchen, we also got special cupcakes and "I'm Celebrating!" Buttons.

I have links to my In-Room Celebration in my signature.
