Hi

I'm off on my fifth trip to DLP next week, staying in a Disney hotel (the Sante Fe) for the first time :) I haven't written a trip report before, but am hoping to do so this time partly as I'm not going to rushing around like a mad thing, to give me something to do at restaurants or bars (i'm on my own and reading seems a bit antisocial) and to prove everyone that you can have a good time at Disney on your own!

So what I am after is the top tips for writing a good trippie! What sort of random information do you like hearing about?

Thanks

I like to hear comments about what you thought and saw rather than just a list of what you did.

Funny little antedotes of what you've heard and witnessed as well.

And of course lots of piccies.

Looking forward to it

Have a read at mine & let me know what you think. Obviously ones for DLRP don't tend to be as long, but it will give you a good idea of how to put one together. That was my first attempt and I really enjoyed doing it, but there is a lot of hard work involved re-sizing pictures and putting them onto photo sites etc I still read mine at least once a week as it brings back so many wonderful memories.

I like to read the trip reports, but I haven't written one, basically because I don't think I can make it as entertaining as the ones that I have read and like.
But I can tell you what I like: I'm hooked to trip reports that are sort of funny, that are sort of a story of the adventures of a family that is set in a disney context. I stop reading those that simply describe what they do during every single day of the trip, so avoid just listing what attractions you do and where you eat and focus more on those things and feelings that are special to your family during your trip.
Of course, adding some pictures are great for us reading to put a context and faces on what we are reading.

Enjoy!!

I really enjoyed yours. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I agree reading them again over and over brings back loads of memories that Im sure you'd forget otherwise

The nice thing about a trip report is it can be as short or as long as you want.
Most of us on here enjoy the longer the better ;) but don't let that put you off.

The other thing is style is another personal choice. Some like to have daily logs. Others add each day withing the same thread. A few like to do a summary report for the whole holiday or just provide a photo trip report.

We enjoy looking at our trip reports as a holiday memory so I've printed them off :goodvibes

I would say that a good tip is to make sure that you finish it. I have written a few from my trips to WDW and I tend to ramble a little and go off subject and end up running short of time and life gets in the way of the completion. Never posted any on here as my last trip was 2004.

I do like reading others and looking at their pics, maybe will get one done after my trip in May, 3 days in the park should be easier to write than 14.
