For those of you who are DL Vets... or even just in the know.. What are some tips you've learned over the years from going.. Also some "secrets" or little known facts about the place. I know the last time i visited, beforehand i had read someone say walt's favorite place to sit and eat breakfast was at the riverbelle terrace and just watch the people. I LOVED reading that and couldnt wait to do it myself and see things as walt would. so any tidbits like that would be great. Thanks for any and all info

I just bumped up for you the very long thread about this topic that is already going. :)

Oh this is a really good topic! Just so you know there are some books you can by in the Park that kind of talk about this subject. The one we got was called Then and Now. It talks all about DL from Start to now. Also just so you know if you are lucky enough to ride the Lillybelle it's the caboose on the train. One of conductors will ride with you and tell about the caboose and the Park. The carpet in the Lillybelle is the same as the carpet in his private apartment! I thought that was neat! We'll never be in the apartment but there is a piece of Walt right there!

OH VERY COOL!! :worship: Thank you! My husband and I love to ready these kinds of threads! We have always wanted to print them up and read them on our road trip down! We did some of the hidden Mickeys last time in March! We got up early one morning and went to Downtown Disney while we waited for the parks to open to find the some, that was a lot of fun! I was better at it then him! But... shhh we wont tell him that!! :goodvibes

I know of a secret attraction. It's not secret exactly but very few people use it.

Innoventions.

If you get the CM we had on the Lilly Belle - he won't talk to you at all, he will nap! :rotfl:

Some of the skulls in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride are actually real human skulls. When the ride was originally built, it was more cost effective to use them, rather than to construct realistic looking ones. The reason only some are human heads is because over the yrs, some have had to be replaced.

Silly question probably, but how do you become "lucky enough to ride the Lillybelle"? That sounds like a lot of fun!!!

Go to the train station and ask one of the CMs if you can ride the Lilly Belle. If it's running that day and they have enough CMs working to allow for one to ride with you, they will let you. When we asked, we were told they didn't have enough CMs at that time, but gave us a time later that day to come back. :goodvibes

The Lilly Belle has been in operation a lot lately! We've been every 2 weeks just about for the last few months and we've seen it every trip. Haven't taken the time to ride in it yet though.

I know a couple in the same spot. On the trail around BTMRR to Fantasyland, on the right is a short fence that you can see a banked curve of BTM through and over.

To the left is a little pond, it has above it a mine tunnel with rails, which is from the Nature's Wonderland an attraction that occupied the site through the 60's. Even better though is if you watch the pond for a minute, you will see fish jumping in a couple spots.
