Does anyone have any tips/hints/secrets/advise/warnings for P.O. French Quarter? I will be taking my 6 yo Daughter and 5 yo Son the first week of June. Just Dad and the kids; trying to make it smooth as possible.
Thanks.
Sam

I suggest that you ask for blding 5, but on the garden side, or else you will get the noise. I hope you have fun! ::MickeyMo

Try to get a room in Building 4 it's close to food, pool, transportation and the laundry. You can take the boat to DTD and get to any resort from the busses there if you want to go to Chef Mickeys or Ohana or (like us) Jiko. It seemed easier than taking the bus to a park and transfering. Get on the boat when it stops to let people off from DTD, they will say that you can catch it when it comes back up the river from POR but it was usually full after stopping there. Have a mudslide at ScatCats. Do not miss the Carriage ride from POR. We did ours at sunset and it was really fun and beautiful . The carriage ride leaves from the boat dock at POR.

I also agree about requesting building four. We stayed on the back side of that building last June. We were only a few rooms away from the food court and there is a short cut to the bus stop behind this building. These rooms are definately the closest to the bus stops, which was really nice after a day in the parks. The view was not important to us, but it was not bad-garden with bunnies hopping around and a slight view of service entrance. We were in a non-smoking room. It is a very calm and relaxing resort to return to at the end of a stimulating day!

You and your family will love it there. Be forewarned, they will LOVE the pool and slides. You won't be able to get them to leave.
Have a GREAT time.

We were in building five and it was perfect as well. Just a few steps to the pool, jacuzzi, playgroud, shop/ lobby area or food court. I just LOVED this resort! I was a pleasant surprise because we normally stay deluxe and I was afraid it'd be a letdown. I would consider it a total bargain. It was maintained beautifully and the theming was simply great. My son was just talking about it tonight, by coincidence. The pool has a HUGE dragon winding over and around it, with the slide coming out of the dragon's mouth. Very grand looking! I don't want to ruin the surprise about the dragon, but it does some very neat things! My son LOVED the alligator figures and the atmosphere in general. The food court had really great food! I loved my chicken gumbo and the freshly made beignets were as just as they are in New Orleans. The rooms were very nice and the beds comfortable. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. :wizard:

We stayed here for the fist time in September and loved it!!! The location is great just a few minutes from DTD and most of the parks!! We found the bus and boat service great!!!

We stayed in bulidling 3 - this was close to the food court and the pool! This resort is quite small so I think you will be happy with any building!!!

Have a great time!! :teeth:

You have picked one of the nicest resorts on the property IMHO! It is beautifully themed and the pool is just magical for kids.

I agree with the previous poster that you may have trouble getting your kids out of the pool - make sure and schedule a lot of pool time into your day. My son (only had one at the time we stayed there) could have spent his entire day in the pool! :earboy2:

We just came back from there and were very pleased. My parents stay there 3-4 times a year. I don't know why but I did not expect it to be as nice after staying deluxe last year. The grounds were lush garden themed even in Feb and it is relaxing. The photo is taken right outside our room.
We were in Bldg 3 but all the way at the end so the walk was a little far but the plus side was that we were next to the turn around and could pull up to the room to unload the car. The rooms were beautiful and the curtain that seperated the sink area in the bathroom was a plus, we put the crib in there.
Also there is a fridge in the room already.
POFQ is also the first bus stop on that route so you always get a seat and if it fills up in the am they don't stop at the other spots.
