How much do you tip? I'm always worried that I'm being cheap or too generous. So how much do you guys tip for each of these: housekeeping, bell services and DME?

Anyone touching your bag is usually a dollar or two per bag, maybe more if they are heavy.
Mousekeeping i think is something like 2-3 per day. You can leave a daily tip, in case you are assigned new staff mid stay, or leave it lump sum on check out date. I honestly do not know if they ensure that previous staff get a cut.

Housekeeping - $2-3/day. More if there's a mess of some kind ( we're usually very neat). Since you may not have the same housekeeper every day ( even they are allowed days off) it's better to leave something daily, rather than wait until your last day.

Bell services- $1-2/bag.

ME driver - same as bell services, but only if we have luggage that he's had to store under the bus.

$2 a bag. $2 a day for mousekeeping. DME doesn't need to be tipped its in their salary.Search for the thread called cash\tipping you'll get some advice.

I tip $1/bag for anyone who touches my bag. More for heavier bags/items like the guy who hauled our Amazon order that included a case of water up a flight of stairs at POR along with our bags he got a $15 tip. ME I only tip if I store a bag under the bus.

When you say per bag, I assume you mean luggage. What about groceries? Do you still feel a buck or two for a bag of groceries? Some stores pack 4 or 5 items per bag and you end up with 20 bags.

Bell Services-$1 per bag.
Housekeeping-$1 pp a day, if I'm tipping. I often hang the 'privacy please' hanger out since I prefer people stay out of my room.
DME-$1 a bag, if I have any. I've tipped with no bags because the driver provided extraordinary service.

Thanks, everyone. It looks as though I've been tipping about the same as everyone else here. Yay!!

I tip mousekeeping $10 a day (we are a family of 4)

DH also tips the bell service that brings our garden grocer order up. He also tips the magical express driver

Does anyone tip the person who calls the cab over while staying at the resort? Or, just a thanks?

I tend to tip for all of these services whenever I travel.

Since the cabs are basically lined up outside of the resort and the bellman just wave at them I wasn't sure. I have actually had the taxi see me and I would nod and they would come over. At Disney it really isn't like you have to flag them down so that is why I was wondering. However, I will hand the bellman/cm a dollar or two for waving the cab over. Thanks for your response.

Oh gosh, don't worry about what I do as a baseline. I tend to tip so a few dollars does not bother me, and you are right, the cabs line up out of the way, so it is just a matter of a wave usually.

I actually felt like I should have tipped them that's why I asked. I felt weird after that I had not tipped. The buses are so slow at Disney that we actually use cabs quite often. I know in a city/town where they have to be hailed this would be customary. I just didn't know if this was routinely tipped at Disney. I'm glad you posted. I asked this before and didn't get any feedback.

We tip $1-2 per bag and then will tip mousekeeping $5-10 a day. The tip will get you better towel animals if you are into them ;)

We get $2 bills at the bank before we go on our trip too to make it easy, they are also crisper than singles so they are easier to count out and hand out.

I'm curious. What do you tip at a buffet? We may have 6 people total this year and I saw that they automatically add 18% to the bill for parties of 6 or more. I personally think that a $50-$60 tip at a buffet is a bit much for someone who just clears dishes off the table and brings a few drinks. That's a tip of about $10 per person. I wish I made $60 for less than an hours work!
