Having learnt from the boards that I should leave a daily tip at the hotel. Where will I leave this cash, how will the maid know that its for her/him and not just change left. I want to do the right thing

Just leave a couple of dollars on the TV or somewhere in the open where it would be obvious. There is normally a little business card holder about and we put it in there and the ladies seem to understand it's for them. Come the end of our hols we tend to leave a bit more given that they've kept the place neat and tidy.

Hi Mandy,

Some people print off their own 'mousekeeping' envelopes before they go and then leave the tip in these, just to be certain. We did this before and were rewarded with some great towel animal creations in return!

I can't seem to find the exact template that we used, but if you go to google and enter "mousekeeping envelopes" you'll be spoilt for choice.

We leave it either on the table or on a bed but with a note or in an envelope saying Housekeeping - please take! otherwise we find they don't take it!
