How much and how much do you tip the staff at the hotels

Any one from bell services that touches my bag (taking it when I check in, delivering it to the room, picking up from the room, or loading the car--all of which might be different people) gets $1 per bag or parcel, more if they are bulky or heavy.

I leave $5 per day for housekeeping, $2 per day for turn down srevice.

Valet parking I give $2 when I drop off and $2 when i pick up.

I also bring a gift for the concierge staff.

Of course I also tip servers and car srevice drivers--20% is generally teh minimum, more for exceptional service.

We'll be staying at CBR for the 1st time this August -- do the housekeepers provide an envelope for leaving a tip? With two young kids in the room for a week, I'm sure our room will get so disorganized that the housekeepers won't be able to find the tip unless I install a neon sign directly above!

No, they do'nt leave envelopes, but there is a web site that you can print out designs onto your own to leave--I don't ahve the address, but I'm sure someone will be able to provide it. Have a great time!

Whenever we leave a tip I usually place it near the sink area with a big note on top so that they know it is theirs. Sometimes in the room the housekeeping will leave a folded card with their name on it so you could use that to place on top.
