Okay... getting closer and closer, so now I need to budget for tipping.... So, How much to tip and to who????:confused3

I am not completely sure what board to move this to, but I am going to send you over to our Disney Tips board (no pun intended!) and see if they can help you out.

The subject of tipping (who and how much) can get to be a bit contentious so hopefully everyone will keep their responses helpful and friendly.:)

Disney employees are not allowed to accept tips. Off the top of my head, servers at restaurants, Mousekeeping, bell service, spa services, valet parking and the stylists can accept tips. I'm not sure about concierges. Tipping guidelines are similar to non-Disney locations.

(sorry, but I've always wanted to use that smilie and this is the perfect thread!)

I am a DIS ewbie and have see this topic blow-up a few times. So, as log as we are assuming that you do already plan on tipping, and it is not a conversation on whether to tip or not.... $1 per person perday for mousekeeping is average. I don't count my babies in that figure since I pick up after them and they stay in pack n plays, so no sheets to be chaged ect. 10% for REALLy bad service at a restaurant, 15% for average, and 20% for good service. $1 per bag for the belle. I usually tip valet a few bucks. Hairstylist at BBB should be tipped around a 10% mark I'd think, so if a little girl orders the $100 make-over $10 should be ok.

I tip and have all of my mousekeeping in envelopes I printed out from mouseforless.com. Meal tips I will just charge to my room since we are on the DDP, but after looking at the Menus from our ADRs, I have a rough estimate of what we'd order and so what ballpark figure our tips should come out. I hate suprises!

We tip $1 per day per person for mousekeeping. $1 per bag for the person who brings our luggage to the room, we tip accordingly (15-20%) at restaurants, if it is really bad service, I leave nothing. (This has only happened once at Hollywood and Vine. The server brought our drinks and never returned until she gave us the check.)
