Tipping???

We are on the Dining Plan where everyone in the party gets 1 table service credit, 1 counter service credit and 1 snack credit per day. How do we handle the tip when we use the table service credit? Is it A) included in the credit, B) to be left by the party (how will we know what our total bill is if its covered by our credit) or C) can I put the tip on my room card? Please help a first timer at WDW.

Tip (18%) is included in the Dining Plan; so is the 6.5% meals/sales tax. BUT you can always tip extra. No server is going to refuse your money

We usually tip extra unless we have bad service... Which over the years, I can count on one hand the places we went that had bad service.

I would also note a minor change--you have the TS, CS, and snack per night, not per day.

All taxes and tips are included in the plan--of course, you can always leave more. If you plan to leave an additional tip, take along some small bills. Unless you have made an OOP purchase, there is no way to add an additional tip to the meal charge as it is listed in credits.

To avoid bad service, I have found it helpful to tell the server that you are on the dining plan, but ask right upfront "I know gratuity is included, but is it ok to tip extra?". This changes the bad server's mindset from "well, I get my 18% whether Im good or not" to "well, if Im good, I may get extra. I'll give them good service".

Again, most servers are good so you will get good service regardless. but if you are worried about your service, just use the above trick, then leave a few extra bucks if it is warranted (nothing major - I generally leave $3-4 extra unless I find the server bad, rude, or unattentive, which is again not the norm.)
