We are using WeGo Shop for the first time. Do people usually tip Amy? If so, how much? I expect our bill to be roughly $300 (mostly booze), and she is probably using three different stores.

I definitely think it's appropriate to tip, but I'm curious what other DVC folks do..

Thanks,
MG

I'll be honest, I didn't tip Garden Grocer. I figure they put their profit in the merchandise markup and they have a delivery fee for orders under a certain amount, which ours was.

We're using WEGO shop in a few weeks and I plan on tipping her 15-20%.

Yes, we do tip. I am trying to remember the percentage they add on if you won't be there for delivery. I think it is either 10 or 15%. Since she is going to 3 stores, I would tip at least $50.

I tipped the times we used wego, but honestly, with my memory being what it is, I can't remember how much. It was probably at least 10%, but more likely 15%. (Former waitress in college and still remember what it was like to work for tips).

I don't think that is the norm. From what I've read on past threads, a 10-15% tip is at the high end, IIRC.

We have used both Garden Grocer and WeGoShop. We tipped WeGo because we actually saw the guy who brought the stuff to our room. (Really nice, personable and accomodating.)

I do not remember if we tipped GG - pretty sure we did - prob in advance when we paid, but our stuff from them was waiting in Bell Services when we arrived.

We tip 15-20% with WeGo, but I feel they really go the extra mile! If the level was service was lower I would tip in the 5-10% range.

Many of these type services include a tip in the charge and when that applies, I'd only tip extra for special situations like weather, etc. If not, I'd think around 10-15% would be most reasonable depending on specifics, weather, total amount, etc. Unlike some other options, I don't think there are any good guidelines for this situation. I'd think asking these companies ahead of time what they consider to be the norm would be best. Generally they'll be willing to give you a guide and word it so that you have choices beyond that.

Dean, as far as I know, neither Garden Grocer nor WeGoShop includes a gratuity for the person delivering your order. They do both include a delivery charge, but that does not go to the person who brings you your stuff.

Thanks Brian, that's why I was generic in my answer because many of these services build it in. It'd still be worthwhile asking though both for the true answer and also to determine what they consider the norm. In addition, it's even more complicated if it's the actual owner doing the delivery though in this situation I'm not sure it'd change my personal decision. I do feel that 20% on a larger order is generally an unreasonable amount even if a tip is appropriate once actual answers are teased out, esp if ETOH is involved

We tipped 20% when we were there Christmas week last week. Marge used her shopping cards, found a coupon for us, and made a second delivery without charge -- family trip, ran out of adult beverages. ;) I can't say enough nice things about the great service that we received. :santa:

Wego adds a gratuity to the bill if you are not going to be there when they arrive. I can't remember how much, at least 10%. If I'm there and they bring it to the room they get an extra 5-10%depending on the order size and complexity. If I'm not there, the gratuity and the delivery fee are all they get and the bell services usually gets a few bucks for delivering to the room.

I'm bumping because I was wondering as well...I used WEGOSHOP back in September and will be using them again. I tipped last time..not sure the percentage...I know I felt bad because I added a bunch of extra things and had "duplicate" things on my list that she had to call back about"

Thanks, I didn't know this place existed, I thought GardenGrocers was it. I love the idea that we can order from Whole Foods (or Walmart  )

When we use these services, they deliver to the resort before our airplane lands. So we've never had the opportunity to tip anyone.
