ok, I have heard a couple of different things. when you order room service, do you tip them every time they come? or do you tip them at the end with all the rest of the tips?

Hi there!

You tip room service every time they deliver food/beverages to your stateroom ... the person who delivers the food is different each time (at least that's how it was for us - and we used room service a fair amount ... probably at least 6 times over the course of our 4 day stay on the Wonder). Also, in the end there is no envelope provided for room service.

As part of my preparation for cruising, I try to "buy" $2 bills whenever I am at the bank. It helps me to set aside money to use for tips for those people that inevitably take care for our family -- they are great for valets, bell hops, room service and anyone else you need to tip. It's also helps me keep track of how much money I am spending on tips.

;)

We had the same two waiters deliver our breakfast every morning. The one morning we only ordered a continental breakfast only one of them came, but there was a lot less to carry.

We tipped them $5 every morning, I handed it to whichever was closer at the time, and figured they'd split it. I also gave each of them a phone card on the last day.

I usually bring an envelope with $25.00 in singles earmarked for room service....For our late night snacks, i usually tip $3.00-$4.00.

I do the same as alexandrew and bring an envelope of singles and keep it in the top drawer where everyone knows where it is.

thanks for all the help....I guess the overall consensus is to tip about 2 or 3 bucks. am I right?

I think it depends on what is being delivered. If I had ordered a full dinner for the three of us I would have tipped $10 or more.

We gave $5 for our late afternoon "snack". I wish someone would bring me one right now.

I agree....don't those giant chocolate chip cookies sounds good right now???

I am thinking now of the great tomato soup, the excellent peanut butter and jelly sandwiches also........and that cheese tray!

Always a winner in my book - and worth a nice tip!!!!

The most we ordered were the cheese plates or cookies,, or drinks,, the drinks had a tip added in already but I always gave an extra buck. For the cheese platter if there was one I would give one dollar if there was two two dollars.... the cookies I only gave a dollar.. oh my I feel cheap now ..... :(
