Yes, I am a Brit, but it does not mean I do not tip appropriatley. However, despite coming over several times there are a couple of senarios I have never had to tip in (because I have not been there before I get flamed). If someone can give me some guidance on the correct tipping levels for these I would be greateful

1. The delevery of take away food (not room service).

2. Tipping a bar tender

I usually tip the pizza delivery person $5.00 and I usually give bartenders $1.00 or $2.00 per round. As the number of rounds increase, so does my tip. Funny how that happens. :upsidedow

For take away food, not including room service, I presume you mean counter service or quick service type locations... If that is what you are questioning, there is no tip required. These are not tipped postions, they are getting paid a regular paycheck...not a check that would include all their tips. As mentioned for Pizza delivery we usually tip about $5 or so...

Bartenders on average, in my experience anyway, we tip $1-$2 depending on how quick they were and/ or the complexity of the drink we are asking for.

With Duke and CDST that is good information and reply to your post.Have a magical trip. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We usually do $5 for that type of delivery, not usually less than that, and the only time we do more is if it means that they have to give us change back, say Pizza comes out to $12 or $13 and I have a $20... I just give them the whole thing in that case...but $5 is usually good.

For delivered food and bar tab service we tip the same as a restaurant 20% minimum, more if the service or conversation is great!
